This property is part of our English Country Cottages collection

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Enjoy a special occasion at this property, where gourmet meals can be arranged and which also has its own hot tub.

Nestling in the pretty Norfolk countryside close to the heart of the Norfolk Broads, Willow Barn and single-storey Beech Barn are detached holiday properties dating back to the 1700s, situated in the grounds of the owner’s home. Providing a perfect retreat for discerning larger family groups, these converted barns offer spacious and comfortable accommodation boasting beamed interiors, wood-burning stoves and enclosed separate gardens with private hot tubs, and for a special meal or family celebration gourmet meals can be arranged with the owner. Beech Farm Barns are ideally located for all the family and for nature lovers there is an abundance of bird life. Within walking distance is Alderfen Broad, which is situated in The Broads National Park, a bird watcher’s delight. For the children there is BeWILDerwood Adventure Park with its treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges and boat trips, which all combined makes a great day out. Nearby is the attractive Broads village of Horning with its selection of tea shops, restaurants and pubs. A day boat can be hired directly from the owner, or book a trip on the Mississippi steamer. The sandy beaches of the North Norfolk Coast are only 10 miles away. Alternatively spend a day in the fine city of Norwich with its magnificent cathedrals, castle, museums, theatres, market and vast array of cafes and shops. There is a wealth of National Trust properties to visit in the area which include Felbrigg Hall, Garden and Park (one of the finest 17th-century country Jacobean houses in East Anglia), Blickling Hall (a magnificent house with woodlands and lakeside walks) and Sheringham Park (beautifully landscaped and renowned for its spectacular displays of azaleas and rhododendrons in late spring). Shops and pub 1½ miles.

Beech Barn (CZU) can be booked together with Willow Barn (CZB) to accommodate up to 18 guests.

This was the perfect stay for my sisters hen weekend. The property is even more beautiful in person. Great communication from the owners and they were very helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

Willow barn was everything we hoped for. Spacious accommodation. Comfortable beds. Well stocked China and glass cupboards. Dishwasher packed up but a new one was installed the next morning. And a very nice hot tub which was enjoyed by all.

We had a lovely stay at willow barn over the weekend. It was peaceful, comfortable and the location was perfect with lots to do around us. We had an amazing gourmet meal on the first night, really good value for money and food was fantastic! The hot tub was a massive plus as well. We loved the bedrooms with en suites as well. Only downside was there weren’t enough supplies of toilet rolls/bin liners/cleaning products etc and owner kept himself in the background, however we will definitely return!

Great place to stay. We had two sets of elderly grandparents and the accommodations was very good having ground floor bedrooms and en suite for each room. The property was warm, comfortable and clean with plenty of seating for the seven of us plus plenty of seating if we had another family with us. The place is slightly remote but that’s what we wanted. A short drive to the nearest pub and 10 mins to the nearest supermarket. We loved it. We will definitely go back.

The owners of Willow Farm were helpful and friendly but kept themselves in the background. It was everything we wanted for a family get-together. Everybody enjoyed themselves.

This was a fantastic house for our group. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. The jakuzzi was wonderful. We went for great walks to local sights like Horning and Alderfen. We had Chef to Dine 4 make our Sunday lunch and it was fabulous. The local pubs were also great. Will definitely be back. Would highly recommend.

We rented Willow Barn for a family reunion, and we had a lovely time. There was plenty of space for all of us and the kitchen was well equipped for a big group. The owners were helpful and local and even bought us a couple of bottles of Prosecco for the birthday girl! The kids LIVED in the hot-tub.

Lovely setting and Barn has been well restored. Feel that the living area/kitchen a little tied and garden furniture/ barbecue would a good addition as just picnic tables at present. But really this is being picky, as a nice location.

ON THE POSITIVE: The cottage was lovely, very clean and furnished to a good standard. We all had a really relaxing break and enjoyed our time there. The hot tub was wonderful and used every night... though slightly cool when we first arrived. We didn't hear any noise from the "human" neighbours... though the same couldn't be said for the Rook chicks nesting in the roof - but LOVELY all the same and had great fun (with Dad's binoculars from halfway down the garden) to identify the parents. SLIGHT NEGATIVES: There was a sewage smell in the corridor, which we couldn't locate an origin of. Also, the open plan mezzanine bedrooms above the kitchen/lounge meant noise travelled very easily and, if guests in those bedrooms went to bed early, everyone else had to be aware of noise generated. All things considered , would stay again.
