Offering panoramic rural views, this bespoke wooden lodge, complete with hot tub, holds an enviable waterside location beside lakes, canal and woodland. Located in the prestigious Ashgrove Country Park, once the pleasure grounds for Ashgrove Hall, you are surrounded by 40 acres of estate parkland with the development being dubbed as ‘the best kept secret in Calderdale’. Split over three levels, the lodge has an open plan living space on the top floor complete with bi-folding doors that can open out onto a small balcony with stunning views. The middle floor offers a bedroom with en-suite facilities, a second bedroom and a family bathroom. The lower level is accessed by external stairs and is where you’ll find the glass-fronted third bedroom, also with en-suite facilities, which uniquely opens out onto a spacious decked terrace overlooking the waterfront. From the moment you arrive and drive through the pillared entrance, and proceed down the tree lined sweeping driveway, the location really is idyllic.
Set between the Calderdale towns of Brighouse and Elland, and just 10 minutes from Halifax, you are surrounded by beautiful West Yorkshire countryside, yet within easy reach of shops, pubs and restaurants. A much sought-after lakeside bar and restaurant is just ½ mile down the road, and uniquely Elland is home to one of Britain’s oldest surviving purpose-built cinemas, as well as a popular and independent microbrewery. Brighouse is a vibrant yet traditional town with ample amenities, a weekly market and a reputation for hosting great festivals. It also has its own train station which provides connections to a variety of West Yorkshire towns and villages, including Hebden Bridge and Halifax, as well as offering direct services to the major tourist attractions of both Manchester and Leeds. Finally, the beautiful cobbled streets of Haworth, once home to the famous Brontë sisters, can be reached in around 30 minutes, and both the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District National Parks in under an hour. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

We had a wonderful time at the lodge, lovely walks and things to do within a few miles radius. In easy distance of shops and take aways deliver. The lodge was a beautiful from the outside and we loved the hot tub and the view of the ducks and swans on the water below. The lodge was well equipped but perhaps in need of a little tlc. It's worth noting that there is building going on by number 13, and there is noise and an impact of privacy . Also worth noting is that the steps leading to the hot tub and bedroom are very big and really not good for my daughter and I who have mobility issues and as this is the only access to the 3rd bedroom, we couldn't use it. The fence surrounding the deck is not dog secure so make sure u bring a long lead so they can be outside with you safely. The owner is very helpful and we would come again once the building work is complete.

Lovely location right on the Calder Navigation. Very quiet and will be stunning in Summer, we went in Winter. The fact that one of the rooms is completely self contained, and to get to it you have to go outside from the main house, could be an issues if your party has more than two children. Overall would recommend.

Lovely lodge with comfortable beds and settees. One pack of logs to start the holiday. The kitchen was quite well equipped although was missing a few things - egg cups, tea pot, empty cupboards to store things in. The storage throughout was an issue. One small set of drawers in the bedroom and a wardrobe filled with hoover, additional heater, box with spare toilet and kitchen rolls. There were no tips on what to do in the local area or a guest book with suggestions which was unusual and a bit of a pain being new to that part of the country. The lodge was very clean as was the lovely hot tub and the few issues mentioned wouldn’t stop us recommending it.
