Beyond your doorstep, adventure awaits. Hire a bike and follow the renowned Camel Trail, some 18 miles of the mainly flat pathway on the site of a bygone railway line from Bodmin to Wadebridge and onto iconic Padstow, with its narrow-cobbled streets, a vast array of restaurants serving culinary delights and thriving quayside. Explore the atmospheric tors and ancient stone structures of Bodmin Moor or take a short ten-minute drive into Bodmin itself for shops, the heritage steam railway, and the infamous Bodmin Jail, now a chilling, interactive experience.
Further afield, discover the golden sands of Widemouth Bay and the magic of Crackington Haven along with the Victorian seaside town of Bude with its many beaches, perfect for surfing, swimming or body boarding. Visit picture-perfect Boscastle, with its pretty cottages, or the timeless harbour towns of Fowey and Charlestown, the latter with its small fleet of tall ships. World-famous destinations like the Eden Project, with its tropical world beneath vast biomes and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, are a delight.
