Originally a Suffolk stone barn (rare on the Isle of Skye) it has been perfectly converted into the most charming cottage that combines the very best of modern living with an olde worlde ambience. The cottage is set in its own 11 acre grounds that lead directly onto the Red Hills. There is a pretty cottage lounge on the ground floor, together with a modern kitchen and bathroom. The two pretty bedrooms on the first floor look out across the amazing landscapes.

This cottage is perfect if you are looking for a calm base for your holiday. The cottage itself is well set out (we were a family of 2 adults and a teenager) and has some beautiful features. The velux in the main bedroom has views across the mountains, and if you like falling asleep looking at stars or waking with natural light it is perfect. The cottage is a short walk from the loch which is brilliant for canoeing and wild swimming. There are some great walks around the loch including waterfalls and fairy pools. The network coverage (as for anywhere in this area) can be variable. We had no problems around the loch, cafe and the wifi connected with ease at the cottage. This cottage is a little gem for anyone seeking some time away from hustle and bustle.

Beautiful location Holiday started off a nightmare Ended up with a lot of water in bedroom due to problems with window Used over 8 towels in 6 hours Had no Wi-Fi because of no signal No land phone so you are stuck in case of emergency Had to ask at gift shop to use phone 2 days and got sorted Had to ring Maintenance man no signal to watch T.V Covered in flea bites off Settee Spend 2 days of the holiday washing, covering and treating the whole house with flea powder etc. It is a beautiful little place But cleaning could be a lot better Pulled dog fur from under beds and corners of rooms

We had a great stay at Tigh Sheoc and was lucky with some great weather for the second half of the week. This area of Skye is fantastic and it was good to be so close to Elgol, Broadford and the otter hide (even if the otters were hiding) but we did have to do a lot of driving to see some of the the other main attractions. The cottage is well suited for us as a family of 4 and our dog. Plenty of room. The cottage was clean and well looked after. The back field was brilliant for giving our dog a run out in the morning before we set off for the day. The short walk down to the Loch was beautiful and a great place for a wander after dinner to see the sun setting over the mountains. A great stay and a great place - both Skye and the cottage.
