We have disappointed with many things. This cottage is not suitable for parents who have young kids , disability kids and Elderly. No access to kitchen and lounge through bedrooms. It’s major impact of our trip as we had 8 small kids . We unable to leave them in bedrooms while they sleep when we spend some time with lounge . Difficult to come with flashy stone steps , very dangerous. Cottage also smelled damp when we opened . Lots of bed bugs bites on few kids and adults Kitchen was very small and congested with dinning area . Not suitable to cook for big group of people . There were no proper lights in kitchen and no windows . Kitchen was dusty and bad smells on glasses and dishes. Dishwasher was far away from kitchen with few steps to walk with dishes . Not worth it for a money

This is an ideal destination for large groups of friends/family looking for a weekend break/staycation. It comfortably holds up to 20 people with plenty of sleeping, seating and dining space. The garden was lovely. It’s up a very steep hill so those with mobility issues may not be able to walk to and from the building, but otherwise the walk into Matlock is pleasant. Well equipped and clean, and the communication with managers was great. Would recommend.
