With its riverside setting and surrounding Peak District countryside, this stone built annexe offers a peaceful retreat just ½ mile from the busy and popular village of Hartington. Located next door to the owner’s home, which was the local corn mill in years gone by, the beautiful gardens which surround the property still house the restored mill wheel and also offer the opportunity for fishing. Hartington itself has plentiful local amenities including pubs, cafés, a well stocked village store and even a famous cheese maker. An area popular with outdoor enthusiasts its reported to have some of the best walking and cycling in England as well as opportunities for hang-gliding and rock-climbing. Central within the National Park, a half hours drive takes you to the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, along with the popular market town of Bakewell. Matlock with its cable car to the Heights of Abraham, Ashbourne, Buxton and the fascinating plague village of Eyam are also within 30 minutes as is the UK’s premier theme park Alton Towers.
