The cottage needs better cleaning - there are lots of cobwebs and the bathroom has damp in it. The fuses were tripped when we were there resulting in no power to sockets and the shower needed to be replaced. I think the price is a lot for what it is.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Unfortunately you arrived during storm Dennis, with high winds and rain for most of the week. We do not have any control of the weather. When you arrived the electric in the kitchen had tripped, we came immediately to find out what was wrong and we resolved the problem within 15 minutes from your phone call. The rain had got into an outside connection, this didn’t occur again during your stay. You insisted it was the fridge freezer so my husband went and picked up a new one just in case, on his return the current fridge freezer was working perfectly so our initial diagnosis was correct. Luckily we were able to return the new fridge freezer to the shop. The shower mixer broke on the Tuesday, 3 days after your arrival. Your husband said it wouldn’t turn off, we replaced the mixer within 1 hour and 15 minutes of it being reported. After fitting the shower mixer we asked if everything was ok and the answer was yes. The bathroom will get damp when guests switch off the fan, as with most bathrooms.

A great place for a break over Christmas. Small but perfectly equipped for the 4 of us. Hot tub was brilliant, we used it every day. Recommend to the owners using a better, or more thorough, cleaner as we had to clean the kitchen and hoover before unpacking on arrival.

What an amazing long weekend at the Boat House! Absolutely stunning location with stunning views, the surrounding areas are beautiful. The cottage itself is beautiful, small but very comfortable, a word of warning though I don’t feel that this cottage is suitable with ANY mobility issues.....a very small, tight spiral staircase and one side of the bed is inaccessible unless you crawl around the bed or across it!!! We would definitely book to stay again, we had some lovely walks and spent many an hour with a glass of something gazing at the view, even made use of the hot tub with a woolly hat on.....well it was December!!!!

High expectations sadly not met. Cleaning was not up to standard at all. Cobwebs everywhere ? drinking straw on the floor. Hot tub maintenance was expected to be carried out by ourself daily. Such a shame! Local pub was closed when we were there also. Place generally needed a good scrub. Bed was broken causing bad back ache ( we didn’t know it was broke until checking under the bed when leaving!) so much potential I hurt leaving this poor review.
