A perfect bolt hole to escape from the world. Very comfortable and well kitted out. Plenty of walks from the door suitable for dogs. A lovely local hostelry only a matter of minutes away.

Lovely little cottage. Good location near to sea and village with shop and pub.Storage heaters were not very efficient as cold by the evening but extra heating was provided and there is a log burner.

A beautiful little cottage , ideal for a relaxing break. Not many amenities around it which is why I chose it.

We holiday at the Gatehouse every year, sometimes twice! The cottage and location are stunning and the views across Snowdonia really are breathtaking. The location is very quiet and peaceful, at night time there is hardly any light pollution which is great for viewing the night sky. There is everything you could need in the cottage, including Wi-fi, a new wood-burner has recently been fitted in the living room which is great for winter / autumn visits. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and is only a phone call away if you should need him. The village of Aberffraw is a short walk down the country lane, it is an historic village steeped in Welsh history. There is a Post Office / general store and a public house. There is a walk down the estuary to the beach, great for dog walking and no restrictions on dogs. The beach is large and sandy with sand dunes to its rear and fantastic views across the sea. The A4080 runs past the village, making it easy to get to locations across the island. I recommend the Gatehouse completely and without reservation.

The cottage is in a great location. It feels isolated in the respect that it is on its own with no other properties near by but it's actually just on the edge of the village which has a shop, tea rooms and pub. It is within walking distance of the beach, it's a 15 minute walk to the access to the beach then a further 10 minute walk up the inlet (which is sand) to the sea. The cottage is a close drive to lots of activities and fun days out, we felt spoilt for choice of the things to do (a family). The cottage was clean and had all the necessary equipment. The owner met us to give us the key and was super helpful. The upstairs area has a sloped celing so need to crouch a little up there. The downstairs ceilings were fine. Property had Wi-Fi. No gate to keep a dog in. Two toilets, shower and bath and always hot water available. Clean, comfy cottage in a great location.

The Gatehouse is a lovely cottage in a quiet village, with only a general store and a pub which serves good food. If your looking for beautiful scenery and tranquillity this is the place. The owners could not be more helpful and their local knowledge is useful. We will definitely be staying again.
