Overall we enjoyed our holiday stay at Swiss Cottage. It is in a good location for walks down to the sea and coastal walks, which we enjoyed with our dog. The garden is good for people with children / dogs as it is enclosed. We loved the sun room overlooking the garden for chilling out after walks in the evening. The pub round the corner ( Clockhouse Inn ) serves good pub food and means you don't have to get the car out for an evening meal. There were a few small issues with cleanliness. The kitchen bin was very dirty when I removed the bin liner to empty it, and the last visitors cigarette nubs were still in the garden. Also a toy was under the sideboard in the dining room and the floor was not very clean in there. The front door lock was very stiff when entering with the key. The back door was also very stiff to lock from the inside. The settees in the living room were very 'sinking'. However the beds are very comfortable and all the linen very clean. Thank you.

This holiday cottage is overpriced for what it has got to offer. We appreciate it is over 300 years old but it could do with a deep clean and an update! The pillows in the master bedroom were well passed their "use by date" and the sofas in the lounge had all sunk from over use. My husband went round all the rooms removing the cobwebs from the walls and ceilings! We would not recommend this cottage to other guests and will not be returning.

Swiss Cottage is a well equipped holiday cottage with a large living room, well equipped kitchen and good sized bedrooms. The outside space is small but there is a nice sun room and a garden room. It is old so the floors upstairs are sloping and a bit creaky in places but this adds to the character. It is well placed for the two village pubs and the convenience store. It is well placed for exploring this part of Dorset, but apart from the walk to Seatown on the coast you should expect to use your car for most days out.

Our second visit to Swiss Cottage and it hadn’t changed a bit! Comfortable stay in a roomy, well positioned cottage. The village has lovely places to eat and drink and the beach is only a short walk away. Convenient location in which to explore the local area. Unfortunately cleanliness not quite as good as last time. The downstairs bathroom, as someone commented before had a horrid smell to it. We live in an old property and appreciate the quirks and character of an older house but feel the cottage could do with a little TLC. It was a good base for a lovely holiday though.

Response on behalf of the owner; Good to know that you had a lovely holiday at Swiss Cottage, which is in a great location and the beach is only a short walk away. I have had the drains to the downstairs shower room thoroughly flushed through. Swiss Cottage is a roomy cottage, which benefits from a ground floor bedroom and ground floor shower room.
