"Peace and tranquillity set amongst Yorkshire’s finest countryside and long stretches of magnificent beaches..."

Steeped in history these former barn buildings have been lovingly restored using all of the original materials. Presented to a very high standard and offering spacious accommodation, each holiday cottage has its own enclosed garden for sole use, to while away the hours overlooking stunning paddocks where deer and foxes play. Guests have free use of the owners’ private indoor heated swimming pool, a communal games room and a children’s play area. The complex is surrounded by open countryside and a newly planted broad leaf woodland area, and is only four miles from the pretty village of Brandesburton. Oaklands wedding venue is situated in the 150 acres of woodland that surround the properties. Struncheon Hill Farm is a haven for those who enjoy having fun around water with a river, lake and pond nearby. Fishing, canal cruises and a Jet Ski and Diving School are less than half a mile from the door. Visitors will find locally an 18-hole golf course, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, a parachute and gliding centre, and an RSPB bird sanctuary.

Just a short drive leads to the traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey with miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches, colourful promenades, inns and tea rooms in abundance, offering the perfect family day out. Walking and cycling tracks surround the cottages and there is easy access to the Yorkshire Wolds - one of Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets. Robin Hoods Bay is well worth a visit, where children will love the chance to search for fossils amongst the rock pools. For stunning views, Flamborough Head is a must and visitors will delight in the puffin colonies that cling to the cliff side. For an alternative day trip, York will not disappoint and meandering along the cobbled streets of ‘The Shambles’, packed with curio and antique shops, as well as many museums including The National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre will keep both adults and children alike amused for hours. Explore British heritage when visiting stately homes and halls such as Burton Agnes Hall with its large collection of Monet and Renoir paintings, or Sledmere Hall with its beautiful gardens only a 30-minute drive away. The attractive market town of Beverley 12 miles away, where visitors can enjoy ancient cobbled streets, quaint shops and friendly local people, completes the area of peace and tranquility surrounding Struncheon Hill Farm. Shops, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

Four Bays (IOH), River View (IOJ), Broad Leaf (IOK), Woodlands (IOL), Meadow View (IOM) and The Loft (UKC2652) can be booked together to accommodate up to 50 guests.

The cottage was really nice, quiet and well equipped, although a little more crockery would have meant slightly less frequent washing up. The swimming pool was excellent, particularly for children and the play area great. Owners very helpful.

We had an amazing time at Strunceon Hill Farm. This is the 3rd time we have been and each time we have thoroughly enjoyed it. This was the first time we have stayed in Meadow View and found it to be very comfortable and spacious for our family (2 adults, 2 children and our dog). The shared outside space is huge and perfect for games and fun while the large enclosed dog field is great for enabling our crazy spaniel to have fun too. The pool area was fantastic, the children loved it. I was slightly worried that the recent addition of a large property would make the pool more crowded but there was always plenty room and most of the time only us. The property is down a country road and is approximately 4 miles from the nearest shop/pub. This makes it so peaceful and relaxing, even our grocery delivery driver was jealous! Perfect, we will definitely return.

The cottage was wonderfully clean and the welcome pack was very thoughtful, one of the best we have had. The pool area and games room were super, and despite the addition, since we booked of the 20 person loft, never too full. Pool was lovely and warm and facilities were first rate. The dog paddock was much enjoyed by the dogs. Cottage was lovely and warm and cosy. Loved the layout being able to connect to our family next door, big bonus. The reasons we would hesitate from a glowing report was firstly the main bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable and meant we didn't sleep well. The springs literally woke us they were so noisy when we moved in our sleep. Shame as the room itself was lovely and spacious. The cottages were down a 4 mile single track lane, lovely and peaceful but we wanted a base doable for York and it took us well over an hour to get there. The access ramps and layout were very helpful for the more infirm but the shower over bath was difficult for some to manage. Very low cold water pressure meant the temperature mix was very hard to achieve. There is room for a separate shower so that would make a really good addition. Lastly, given the pool and games room appeal to teenagers and youngsters, the addition of wifi would be very helpful. Even for us oldies, it helps to be able to look up local attractions etc.
