We had a brilliant week at Skimblescott Barn. The owners are friendly and helpful and it was lovely to find a homemade cake on arrival! The Barn is lovely and comfortable and very secure for dogs. It is in a great location for visiting the area without driving for hours. We would definitely recommend it and be back next year!

Skimblescott Barn is an amazing barn conversion which has been done to an extremely high standard throughout. The property is very roomy and comfortable inside with a huge dining kitchen and beautifully furnished living room. The bathroom is very modern and both bedrooms had ample wardrobe space. The kitchen had plenty of empty cupboards read to store your own food in, which was a welcome change from many properties that we have stayed in. The Barn is located on a working sheep farm, with the smaller bedroom window looking directly into the lambing shed - which was great for us as it was lambing season when we stayed. The farmer (Keith), his wife (Tina) and son Rhys were all very welcoming and happy to talk about their roles on the farm. I would certainly recommend this property and location and will definitely be staying again.

A wonderful return to Skimblescott. Truly a lovely place to stay. This time to add to the pleasure the lambs were being born so to see them was a joy! Arriving to home made cake is always a pleasure after a long journey and we soon feel like we are at home. Cannot wait to return.

Spacious, cosy, clean and well equipped cottage on a working farm. Even decent WiFi. We were there at the beginning of lambing, which the kids loved, and everyone was very friendly and welcoming including the dogs!! Conveniently situated near main roads and an easy drive to Ironbridge, Shrewsbury, Ludlow and fantastic walks in the beautiful Shropshire hills. A great place to stay, highly recommended.

A wonderful return visit to Skimblescott. Comfy, cosy and welcoming. Arriving to home made cake is that extra caring touch. Well appointed, lots of space, wonderful location was more could you ask for? We loved it. As an aside, the wifi is excellent, I had to work whilst I was there and it was super fast and reliable so that was really helpful, if you want to escape from the outside world there you can easily do that and ignore the wifi!

We had a wonderful week at Skimblescott barn with beautiful surroundings and first class accommodation. We had a few hot days and our children loved using the pool in the garden. We loved Blists Hill Victorian Town, Stokesay Castle, Enginuity, Ironbridge, Ludlow and needed more time as there was still so much to do!

A lovely property with everything you need and very comfortable but the lack of access to local walks was an issue for us. The farm dogs were also a problem with our dogs who are nervous of big dogs as they have been attacked by them. If the fencing was close boarded the problem could easily be solved.
