Lovely cottage, well equipped. Only downside was that recycling bins were full so we had to go to local site to empty them. We enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was not clean, large cob webs everywhere, kettles and shower heads had to be descaled before we could use them. The Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the annex and the tv in the annex doesn’t work. We had to replace the batteries in the remaining remotes to get them to work. The glass/bottles recycling and the general recycling was overflowing when we got there. The mop and bucket had clearly been left outside of weeks and smelt terrible and we had to clean the green slime from the mop bucket. The detergent trays on both washing machines were black so we tried scrubbing these before we would wash anything in them. The cottage was freezing so glad we took throws etc, as the heating only came on for a couple of hours in the morning then again at night but when temperatures outside are minus, we heating could have been on for longer. The garden in the picture online looks nothing like the actual garden. This property has lots of potential but clearly is not being managed or cleaned very well.

Shaws cottage is really beautiful, with an annex on the same ground as the cottage with two rooms inside, one room with twin beds and another with a double bed. The annex was a great place for my son's and their partners to stay whilst myself and my husband had the cottage to ourselves. I can't praise the cottage and annex enough as they are both beautiful. Only let down was that the recycling from the previous occupants was left in the recycling boxes, leaving us with nowhere to put recycling or rubbish as the bin at the side of the cottage was also full leaving us with no option but to take our recycling to the tip ourselves.
