We had a lovely week at Seaspray and were very sorry to leave. The house was comfortable and clean, had everything we needed and was right on the beach. What more could you want?! Yes, it is on a public beach and it does get busy when the weather is nice, but that all adds to the fun. We enjoyed people watching from the private deck and especially enjoyed watching the horse riders who came in the evening to gallop at low tide. It was quiet in the mornings and evenings, so that was a perfect time for a beach combing stroll or swim. The beach has lifeguards and beach patrols and a team that cleans the beach daily, so we never felt unsafe or that the beach was not clean. The only minor issue is that perhaps the deck and stairs are not suitable for small children, but that was not a problem for us and our teenage daughter. We had never been to Camber Sands before and are so glad we discovered it. We hope to come and stay at Seaspray again sometime!

We did not have a good experience at Seaspray. The property had not been cleaned to a particularly high standard. The upstairs windows hadn’t been cleaned on the inside and we’re full of bird poop on the outside. There is black mould throughout and although there was plenty of cookware, cutlery and crockery, it had to be rewashed before use. The main bedroom was nice and the bed comfortable but the twin room is small and has an ugly view of the car park. There is no air conditioning or air flow within the property so the twin room was unbearably hot for the children by early morning and the heat of the day was stifling downstairs. The house is located directly on a public beach. The hot weather that occurred during our stay attracted thousands upon thousands of groups of people. As such, we had to deal with extreme crowds, antisocial behaviour, drug users, all night parties and overnight campers. The sight and smell of the huge amount of rubbish left behind in overflowing bins and on the beach each day was sickening. Despite the rubbish, we were able to enjoy the beach in the very early mornings and around sunset but felt trapped during the main part of the day due to the crowds. Parking was an issue but we did have a permit for the week so that was helpful. The balcony does not have a gate, there are no privacy signs or CCTV and only a chain fence surrounding the small ‘private’ beach on the sea side of the property so we had trespassers day and night. We did not feel safe nor comfortable for the majority of our stay. Overall, at almost £200 per night, we feel this property is overpriced and was not particularly clean or safe for children.
