Sealladh Breagh itself is set in a generous spot surrounded by crofting land, so sheep and cattle will often roam past the garden fence. The property is elevated and has a private driveway leading up to the generous parking area. On entering the property, the hallway is visible stretching the length of the ground floor. To the right initially is the master bedroom with a double bedroom and en-suite facilities. It is spacious and very light with large windows. There are two other bedrooms off the hallway, again very spacious, and a large family bathroom. At the end of the house is the kitchen/dining room that is triple aspect with a door leading out to the utility room and rear door to garden. It is a farmhouse-style kitchen and a very inviting space to sit, relax and enjoy hearty home cooking. There is also a door out onto the wonderfully located decking to enjoy west-facing views as the evening sun dips towards Macleod’s Tables on the far western side of the island. The pièce de résistance though is the living room in the central part of the house. It has a fantastic feature wood burner, triple aspect with huge windows letting in those mountain views, and a patio door out onto the fantastic decking. Sealladh Breagh just keeps on giving, the stairs lead to the first floor which is open-plan and contains both a cinema area and a games room area with pool table and table football. It takes this holiday home to the next level. Once you arrive, you won’t want to leave.
All the family will enjoy spending time up this magical glen on the Trotternish Peninsula. Sealladh Breagh is in a truly wonderful location on the Isle of Skye. It’s nestled at the end of a small road at the foot of the Trotternish Ridge, but on the western side, the far less visited side, and situated in Glen Hinnisdal, a truly hidden gem. You can walk up onto the ridge to join the Skye Trail from the road end, go hiking and stroll from your doorstep to fly fishing areas which the owner who lives on-site can advise you on.
You are not far from the main Portree and Uig road, being only a few miles away, so you can be in Uig and Portree in no time at all, where you will find bars, cafés, restaurants and lots of other things to do. The Fairy Glen is only a few glens away, and a highlight for any visit to the island. A short drive via Uig and over the Trotternish Ridge will get you to the Quiraing, Staffin with its dinosaur footprints, Brothers’ Point with more dinosaur footprints, and the truly memorable Old Man of Storr. The Trotternish Peninsula really is a spectacular location for a holiday and many would argue, the best spot to be for a trip to the Isle of Skye. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 6 miles.
Sealladh Breagh can be booked together with Taigh Iasg (ref UK30003) to accommodate up to 8 guests.
