We spent two weeks in August 2017. The good stuff? - Amazing location with beautiful estuary views - Hot tub with fab coloured lights - Plenty of nice outdoor space - Sheer scale; it does sleep ten - The hilarious information folder in faultless 'Allo Allo' Franglais(!) The bad stuff? Too much to mention, but the main ones were: - We paid nearly £2,000 above the other options we considered specifically for the "heated pool". It wasn't (the heater was broken), and was too cold to use at all. The owner blanked any effort to discuss this - Extremely complicated arrangements for tourism tax, electricity and linen. E125 cleaning charge, E10 per person per week for sheets, plus paying separately for any electricity (about £80 for our holiday - likely to be higher outside summer), and tax... it adds several hundred pounds which needs to be paid in Euros, so is a nuisance to deal with. It also takes a full hour out of the first day, and the last day, of your holiday to liaise with the agent. Why on earth not just include it all in the price?! - 3 of the 4 WCs, (which are all in separate rooms to all washing facilities so you have to touch two light switches and two door handles after using WC and before washing your hands), reeked strongly of urine. We managed to clean 2 of them to make them acceptable (the unit, walls and floor needed properly scrubbing), but the final one resisted all our efforts and remained unuseable - Two of the double, and one of the single, beds were urine-soaked and stinky; one of them still palpably damp. We mentioned this and the cleaner came round and added a mattress cover to the worst one, which she (and the owner) obviously thought solved the problem. Despite the owner insisting there is a rigorous cleaning regime, one of the beds also had a blood-covered tissue stuffed behind the mattress when we arrived, plus lots of dust and cobwebs - The extractor fan in the ensuite shower of the downstairs twin room runs 24/7 and is extremely noisy, making for very disturbed sleep. Again, we mentioned this and the agent looked and assured us it was on a timer. It wasn't

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. I checked myself all the mattresses, as we do every week, before our guest arrive to give them a nice, clean house; the beds were all clean on your arrival. Unfortunately, you took off all the underpads and we had to change the mattresses after your stay. About the toilets, we have the amazing pictures of "what" these "guests" left in the toilet when they left the house: disgusting. With regard to the swimming pool, as soon as we were informed, the pool man came to fix the issue. After this intervention we never had any other news. We would have be pleased to help you again if we had been advised of any problem encountered. About the extractor all the guests know they can stop it during the night. About the extra costs, they are mentioned on the travel documents.

A beautiful house in a stunning location. You can't help but admire the views at every opportunity. The house suited the needs of our party of 9. Ages ranging from 2-62. The pool and hot tub were firm favourites. The weather was variable so we needed the roof on the pool. There was plenty of space for everyone. The nearby beaches were gorgeous but there were few other facilities. The shop in the village stocked most basics but you definitely need a car o access everything else. Overall a lovely family holiday.
