Overlooking the river, their living room doors open onto the sun verandah and own private garden with seating furniture, ideal for relaxing in, soaking up the sun and watching the boats pass by. Although set in a peaceful location, the properties are still linked to the modern world and have Wi-Fi access. There is private quay headed mooring for a motor launch (available for hire by prior arrangement), and this location is perfect for river fishing. The chalets are located in the village of Brundall, the centre for boat building and boat hire, and which has its own railway station, shop/post office, mini-market, hairdresser, takeaway, fish and chip shop, fine restaurant and local pubs all serving good food; one is just across the river, and one is within a short stroll.

Great Yarmouth is easily accessible by car or train, as are the surrounding seaside towns and villages of Gorleston-on-Sea, Hemsby, Caister-on-Sea, Winterton, California, Newport and Hopton-on-Sea, all offering entertainment for a family holiday. The first couple of days at River Rest we had a couple of issues about the mattress being uncomfortable and the sofas very low and not supportive we phoned the local number and spoke to a young lady who worked for the owners she explained they had only taken over the lodges recently, she immediately changed the mattress and one of the sofa's she really went the extra yard and explained that the lodges were all being totally upgraded and showed us one that had been it was that good we booked it there and then for next year, can not fault what she did to make our stay really enjoyable

This place needs a deep clean. When we walked in there was an overpowering smell of bleach so I assumed it had been thoroughly cleaned but how wrong was I. I think the only thing that had been bleached was the kitchen floor as within 10 minutes of walking on it my black socks had been completely bleached underneath and were ruined which was quite concerning as we had a dog with us. I've never seen so many cobwebs, I understand it's September and spider season but these cobwebs clearly hadn't been dusted in months. Also the old rusty smelly fridge and freezer on the verandah was clearly meant for the tip so such it shame it was left on the verandah for our stay. Its such a shame as this place could be lovely but sadly we won't be coming back unless it's been cleaned up and the creaking floorboards sorted out.

Not clean enough. Spiders everywhere. Cobwebs around the roller blinds. Cheap furnishings. Poor quality bedding. Some pillows appear to be wrapped in plastic bags due to the noice they made. Fridge and freezer on veranda that needed scrapping, looked like they’ve been sent send to store a body. Broken outside furniture left on veranda , not taken away. Location good. On the riverbank. Lots of wildlife. Including a rat that kept coming into the garden. Location very good.
