Perfect riverside holiday accommodation, set on the water’s edge at Brundall. These delightful detached holiday chalets are comfortably furnished throughout with well-equipped, fitted kitchens. Overlooking the river, their living room doors open onto the sun verandah and own private garden with seating furniture, ideal for relaxing in, soaking up the sun and watching the boats pass by. Although set in a peaceful location, the properties are still linked to the modern world and have Wi-Fi access. There is private quay headed mooring for a motor launch (available for hire by prior arrangement), and this location is perfect for river fishing. The chalets are located in the village of Brundall, the centre for boat building and boat hire, and which has its own railway station, shop/post office, mini-market, hairdresser, chinese takeaway, fish and chips shop, fine restaurant and local pubs all serving good food; one is just across the river, and one is within a short stroll.
Great Yarmouth is easily accessible by car or train, as are the surrounding seaside towns and villages of Gorleston-on-Sea, Hemsby, Caister-on-Sea, Winterton, California, Newport and Hopton-on-Sea, all offering entertainment for a family holiday. The pretty Broadland villages and countryside. RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen, 3 miles. Norfolk’s finest sandy beaches are 12 miles. The fine city of Norwich is 8 miles with its excellent shopping, theatre, restaurants, inns, cafés, castle and museum.
For fun-filled family days out there is Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens with a renowned collection of Asian mammals including birds; you will also find reptiles in the pleasantly landscaped gardens. Close by, the village of Strumpsham has a steam museum, and Reedham offers Pettitts Animal Adventure Park.

River rest is lovely , right on a mooring just off the river, quiet and very relaxing. The Microwave was rusty, but apart from that we had a great time here for a week . Gardner was a nice friendly chap and was informative about the river and fish .

A really nice place for a peaceful and quite break, even better if you enjoy basic fishing straight off your own decking patio. It is clean, tidy and well laid out and adequately equipped for a short stay. Location is good for seeing the area with good road access. Brundall has all the basic supplies that you need with pubs and a restaurant. A couple of niggles, the double bed frame creaked - the mattress is fine, the entrance floor is even worse and there was no valid contact details as the property has recently changed ownership - not good if you had need to talk to someone. That said do not be put off going here for a holiday - everywhere has some issues. The peace, quite and location easily make up for it.

Don’t be fooled by the lovely photos on the website the cottage is tired and tatty. The cottages has just been taken over by a new company who said they are in the process of upgrading the properties and they will resolve any problems you have. Let’s hope they inject some comfort and colour into this cottage. We did have a lovely holiday the weather and the wildlife made it.
