Perfect little get away! You're a short drive from any shops, pubs and places to eat and super easy to get into Newark-upon-Trent itself. This is as expected from the properties description. Even though there's 5 properties on-site, including the owners Farmhouse, you get so much peace and quiet! The area was beautiful, although not much to do at the time of year we booked. We found plenty that could have been done but was unfortunately closed. Will 100% be booking again!

Great little cabin on a really peaceful farm. We were 2 couples and enjoyed our long weekend very much. Amenities within 10 minutes drive but we had already been to the supermarket beforehand so had everything we needed. Hot tub was great and a perfect addition to the cabin. If youre looking for a relaxing break this place is perfect :)

Myself and three friends went here for a long weekend. We had a lovely time nice and quiet location not to far from Clumber Park. We found the lodge to be really cute with nice decor and very cosy. We would definitely go back but also recommend it to friends and family. X

S lovely and quiet location with a relaxing cosy feel to the place. Never stopped in a lodge before. This isn't a criticism but an observation/preference but personally i think dressing gowns should be provided if a hot tub is on offer. Also both sets of towels that were left for us to use (i.e hot tub and bath towels) were much too small even for us and we are average sized people. We were surprised that no toiletries were not provided in the shower or a hairdryer . Luckily us girls brought some toiletries so our husbands could share and a hairdryer too. Not enough toilet roll was an issue as we only had 1 toilet roll provided and we were 4 people booked for 3 nights. It seems only 1 toilet roll is all that is provided and extra is for the guest to bring as also is the case with dishwasher tablets if we were using more than the 2 we were left with. So possibly mentioning a few of these points in the description for the property would be helpful.

I surprised my wife with tickets to see Mumford and Sons at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena for her birthday and booked to stay at Dukeswood for the two nights surrounding our trip. We love the Cotswolds and we often try to stay in log cabin's when we visit there, so we were both very impressed with Dukeswood and what Newark could offer. Based on a working farm but with a lot of privacy, Dukeswood was perfect for a romantic birthday retreat - but likewise has the space and amenities for a family break. The cabin was well equipped and very spacious, the hottub is great and the log burner was used both nights (it was November after all!) For us personally - a couple of things could be improved; * Kitchen Roll - isn't provided (although the kitchen is well equipped) * Robes - there isn't any robes so it does mean getting in/out the hottub and generally lazying around the cabin less comfortable than others we have stayed at * Towels could do with being bigger, they are medium sized bath towels and we are average build and they were smaller than we'd like/use too * Bluetooth speaker - if you want music, bring your own speaker as there is not any form of device that can play music But the above is our preferences based on other places we have stayed and what we are used to so don't let the above reflect your decision as the place is very nice!

Beautiful location set on a working farm. Not too far from main roads and two towns are within a short journey. The welcome pack on arrival gives emergency info eg doctor and dentist as well as local market info. The cabin it’s self is well equipped and has everything you need to get you started. A welcome tea tray of posh cookies, tea, coffee milk etc Is also provided. Immaculately clean minus some under bed dust. The location is advertised with close by walking but we weren’t really sure where to start and didn’t want to intrude on people’s land so gave that a miss. Overall it was enjoyable, heaters worked well and we lit the log fire too!

Fabulous trip away at Dukes Wood. The farm itself is gorgeous, lots of wide open space and you really do feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. I marked it as an 8 for local amenities as you are a decent drive away from shops etc ... but that's part of the charm of the place and you wouldn't book it if you wanted to be right in the middle of town. I'd definitely stay again!

Great place for a family. Kids loved being able to run around and play on the trampoline. Cabin was spacious and comfortable. A washing machine either in the cabin or on site would have made things even better. But otherwise a great place.
