Description

Raithby Hall is situated on the doorstep of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its unspoilt scenery and pretty hamlets and villages.

Raithby Hall is a Grade II listed building and has a splendid location in the rolling, historic Lincolnshire Wolds, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Although built in 1760, some parts of the house date back to 1604. It was extended by Sir George Gilbert Scott to become the magnificent and well-proportioned hall it is today and it has been at the centre of Lincolnshire life ever since. John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Church, stayed many a time at the Hall. The Grade 1 listed chapel in the grounds is one of the oldest Methodist chapels in England that is still in use today. Raithby Hall was described by John Wesley as ’a palace in the midst of paradise’, and said that ’Preaching here in this chapel is something very special’. Another famous visitor, Lord Alfred Tennyson, was born 11 miles from Raithby, and is said to have visited Raithby Hall many times.
This Grade II listed property offers 16 bedrooms, all lavishly decorated and elegantly furnished, drawing on influences from across the globe. This has ensured that each room is unique and stylish as well as comfortable and welcoming. Raithby Hall has all the grandeur its Grade II listing might suggest. Set amid rolling lawns, Raithby Hall has an extensive lake, an oriental garden, as well as a bountiful woodland and beautiful natural walkways for everyone to explore. Raithby Hall is ideal for large gatherings or celebrations, the dining table seats sixteen and the pool table converts to a dining table seating an additional twelve guests, and you can also ask local caterers to help with a special occasion.
From here you can explore the area and visit the coast and the traditional resort of Skegness with its sandy beaches. You may wish to spend time enjoying the fabulous grounds complete with a boat house and decking for entertaining on next to the lake, and there is always the swim spa to exercise or simply relax in and enjoy the views over the lake and gardens. Beach 14 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
