Description

There are a variety of places to visit from this stunning apartment, including Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, New Quay and Aberaeron.

Plas Tanybwlch, now converted into luxury apartments, nestles in 7 acres of grounds just south of Aberystwyth, with dramatic vistas of the sea and views of no less than three castles. The main entrance to Plas Tanybwlch leads to a grand reception hallway and the apartments Valley View No.3 (ref OU8) and Sea View No.4 (ref OU9) are located on the first floor via a grand staircase. They have been restored, keeping the original 19th-century features including architrave, plasterwork, internal shutters and sash windows, and are stylishly furnished to include every comfort and convenience. The building is an imposing Grade II listed mansion house with an illustrious background. Built in 1835 by a Napoleonic war hero, it has been a WWII isolation hospital, a catering college and owned by a rock star with recording studios used by many famous music artists, a shrine to Jimi Hendrix once existed. A comfortable 30-minute beach walk or a 15-minute cycle along a Sustrans route will bring you to the university town of Aberystwyth, where you will discover the pier and promenade, castle, and the National Library of Wales (free guided tours available). Constitution Hill has a cliff railway to the summit as well as an unusual Camera Obscura allowing you to look back over the whole of Aberystwyth through a camera lens. The Aberystwyth Arts Centre is a top quality entertainment centre and considered the best in Wales outside of Cardiff. From Aberystwyth you can take the steam train on the Vale of Rheidol Railway to Devil’s Bridge. There are 60 miles of coastal paths in Ceredigion accessible from here and if you prefer a day out without the car, a ¾-mile walk will bring you to the stop where the buses go north or south to a variety of destinations, such as New Quay, where you may take a dolphin watching boat trip, and Aberaeron, a Georgian harbour town famous for its coloured houses and chic shops, cafés and restaurants. Ceredigion has a wealth of things to see and do whilst on holiday - from unsurpassed beaches, renowned nature reserves, historic houses and gardens and interesting coastal and inland towns and villages. Whatever your interest, you won’t be short of ways to fill your days. Shop and pub 1½ miles, restaurant 2 miles.

Shared reception hall. First floor apartment. Open-plan living/dining room with exceptional views in three directions to sea, mountains and river valley, kitchen area and wooden floor. Shower room with toilet. Second floor: Galleried double bedroom with 5ft bed.

Everything was perfect for a relaxing get-away. Very quiet location but not isolated. Lovely 30 minute walk along the beach into Aberystwyth where you have everything you need. 10 minute drive to the centre. Accommodation was lovely and sunny with 3 big windows with fantastic view of fields with cows and calves from one window, Aberystwyth from another, and the sea from the other -and of course red kites! Bed really comfortable and everything you need was there. We'll be back!

Another wonderful week at Tanybwlch. The apartment was as spotlessly clean and comfortable as when I stayed there 2 years ago. The house is very quiet and peaceful and the views from the windows are amazing. Always plenty to do and see in Aberystywth especially at the wonderful Arts Centre. Lovely walks across the beach and by the river. Tanybwlch is an exceptional property with a very interesting history. It is a privilege to spend time there.

We enjoyed a really lovely week at Seaview. We were met on arrival and made very welcome, the apartment is well furnished with beautiful views in a lovely location. Approximately 30 minutes walk along the Coastal path into the Marina and promenade of Aberystywyth it is an ideal location. We enjoyed our week, and walked various parts of the coastal path both north and south, we would thoroughly recommend a holiday in this apartment.
