This fun-filled converted piggery is full of an abundance of quirky pieces to delight you throughout your stay. There is something different to look at in every corner of Piglet Lodge whether it be side tables with boots on or a pig butler serving your drinks.
Situated within a few minutes’ drive from the historic town of Battle the property is easily accessible by train or road with an off-road parking space available for your convenience. Situated next door to the owner’s home which backs onto Normanhurst Forest the property is ideal for walkers and for those wanting to spot some wildlife within easy reach. This also means that although they won’t intrude the owners are on hand should you need advice during your stay.
The open plan living space provides comfort with a reclining leather sofa in front of the crocodile coffee table and Smart TV allowing guests to log into their Netflix. A large double bed provides sumptuous comfort with piglet slippers provided. The vaulted beamed ceiling provides character with additional light whilst the windows look out over the outside seating area. The kitchen area is fitted with a hot plate, fridge and microwave giving you the option of eating in. If you prefer to eat out there is a local pub within half a mile or only a short drive away you will find the historic town of Battle with a range of pubs, wine bars, brewery tap rooms and restaurants. The bathroom with feature lighting and a relaxing Japanese soaking tub provides the perfect spot for a relaxing soak after a long day exploring. Fancy ending the evening with a glass of wine under the stars or an al-fresco dinner watching the sun set? Outside there is a large bench along with a table and two chairs.
The town of Battle boasts Battle Abbey, owned by English Heritage. You can watch the re-enactment of the famous battle each year in October where you can find Saxons and Normans in the local pubs. Here there is also a selection of cafes and tea rooms along with independent shops, butchers, greengrocers, fishmongers and a bakery. The nearby village of Sedlescombe boasts a vineyard whilst a short drive or train can take you to the coast with its seaside attractions, art gallery, town centre and historic old town. Home to the annual crazy golf championships, aquarium, Britain’s steepest Funicular railway and much more Hastings provides a great day out. Slightly further afield you can visit attractions such as Scotney Castle, Bodiam Castle, Herstmonceux Castle and Batemans, the home of Rudyard Kipling. A direct train will get you to the capital in just over an hour.
