Pen copi is absolutelybeautiful and well maintained. Wonderful raural views, quiet and relaxing. Beds are extremely comfortable, the property nice and warm and full of character. There's plenty of essential items in the kitchen etc. When we arrived we were left with a welcome gift from Gareth and Angela of homemade cups cakes, a loaf and a bottle of milk. There's plenty of information left for visitors regarding places to visit and local walks. Very helpful host if you need to ask them a question. Would definately stay again.

Upon arriving at Pen Copi we were so delighted to see that the cottage was set in a large paddock and the front elevation overlooks fantastic uninterrupted views of the snow top mountains and open landscape. The cottage is absolutely beautiful. Good sized rooms which are nice and cosy. Perfect for a family of 4 + 1 dog. Towels and bed linen provided were lovely and clean. Fluffy towels! And the bed linen smelt fresh. I have to say the beds were very comfortable. The open fire was brilliant, the fire was set up for the first night so just needed lighting BUT no matches provided to light it. Luckily the Tesco delivery man was a smoker so we ambushed him. We had a Tesco delivery so we didn’t need to go out shopping for food but the local village does have a Spar. Beautiful walks locally. We liked Hafren Forset the most. Gorgeous waterfalls, streams which form from the River Severn. The few down sides- •No matches provided to light the fire. (Not on arrival) •1 pot on the left hand side of the fire (cast iron). We lifted the lid to see if matches were in side it but no, the putrid smell that hit us in the face from inside the pot was awful. It smelt of stale urine. We had to put the pot outside! •No baking trays provided. However there is 1 roasting tray but with a family of 4 this wasn’t enough. •1 plastic spatula provided, when making pancakes this item was inadequate as it started to melt. A metal spatula would be an added benefit! •Cobwebs - I know it’s a 17th Century cottage but the cobwebs that are in corners above beds and in the the bathroom would be easy to reach with a feather duster. •Bathroom (Downstairs) The paint work needs attention. It’s cracked and peeling in places. Possibly due to lack of ventilation when the shower is used. Maybe benefit from a fan or trickel vent. •Light Bulb- The wall light fitting in the kitchen to the left of the fridge freezer has 1 bulb out. It would have been an added benefit if blankets for the lounge were provided for evenings to make it even more cosy.

Beautiful grounds & gardens with stunning views across the valley. I loved the peace and quiet and absolute solitude. The kitchen was very well equipped. I appreciated the welcome pack of cupcakes, home made bread & milk along with the complimentary first bag of wood for the fire. Subsequent bags of wood were charged at £6 per bag. It was also nice to discover that the fire had been made upon my arrival. Overall the furnishings in the cottage were of a high standard and were comfortable. However, I did have one minor issue. Without the log fire being lit the lounge became very cold at night. In fact there were only three radiators in the cottage, one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom (which didn't work) and one in the downstairs twin bedroom. I'm sorry but the heating wasn't adequate enough and I found myself feeling rather cold. Maybe it would be a good idea for the owners to invest in some convector heaters for the winter months. I imagine that the cottage is a lovely place to stay during the summer and despite the cold I enjoyed my stay.
