In a peaceful location at the end of a quiet farm lane, these cottages enjoy views across open pastureland. Careful conversion of a Cumbrian sandstone stable block has preserved fine original features and the patio offers a haven for relaxation. The village of West Newton and the town of Aspatria are both about 1½ miles away. The cottages lie 5 miles from sandy beaches and the west Cumbrian coastline. Silloth (10 miles) is a Victorian seaside resort and has an excellent golf course. To the south lie the old shipping ports of Maryport and Whitehaven with marinas and museums. The Lake District town of Cockermouth, 12 miles, is easily accessible, as is Keswick, which can be reached via routes alongside Bassenthwaite Lake with its famous osprey view point. Keswick is a shopping town with markets, as well as a lakeside theatre on Derwent Water, where boat trips can be taken. There is easy access to Carlisle and the myriad attractions, spectacular scenery and walking and cycle routes of the Lake District National Park, ensures that Pasture Farm makes an ideal holiday destination.

This cottage is on a farm and is surrounded by fields. Cows come and visit, mostly in the evenings! The owner is so kind, we chatted with her most days. Nothing is too much trouble. The beds are really comfy. Small courtyard garden which really got the sun in the evenings. The local town, Aspatria, was fairly quiet but there's a pub, Spar and Coop. The fish and chip shop provided us with a lovely meal on the last day of our holiday. If you want somewhere close to tourist attractions but far enough away so you don't get overloaded with people, this is the place for you. A visit to Maryport is highly recommended - after visiting the aquarium, we stayed on the small beach and had this to ourselves!
