Upper Mill Barn is nestled deep within the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside and set around the owners 17th-century farmhouse and working arable and sheep farm. Situated amongst rich pastureland and woodlands ripe to be explored, the property enjoys commanding views down across the valley towards the Deer Park, where you can spot deer meandering through the woodland from the comfort of your private hot tub. As you approach down the private meandering track through some beautiful countryside, you will set your eyes on this characterful cottage set in a stunning picture postcard valley. Upper Mill Barn is one of two attached holiday cottages and has been thoughtfully presented throughout. Offering accommodation over the first floor, the property has beamed vaulted ceilings and an open plan living space offering beautiful views.

Wildlife really is in abundance here, with buzzards, herons, foxes and even a barn owl if you are lucky. Within walking distance is the hamlet of White Mill, where you can enjoy some home cooked food and a selection of locally brewed ales at the local pub. Locally, Brechfa Forest, famous for its vast array of outdoor activities, is on your doorstep, and expands to 18,000 acres of ancient and managed forestry on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. South are the Cambrian Mountains, which provide walkers, mountain bikers and horse riders with beautifully scenic routes to explore. Brechfa Forest is becoming widely respected in mountain biking circles, with three trails all designed by Rowan Sorrell.

You may want to explore the longest beach in Wales, the famous 7-mile long Cefn Sidan, along with the hugely popular Pembrey Country Park which makes for a great day out for all the family. Locally, the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens are not to be missed, and are just a short drive away. Beach 13 miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
Upper Mill Barn can be booked together with Lower Mill Barn (ref UK6613) to accommodate up to 8 guests.

We were welcomed by the owners on arrival. We had a lovely welcome pack waiting for us including milk and cake. The hot tub was really lovely and clean although it didn’t seem to be working on our last evening which was a shame as we would have liked to have used it properly in the nice weather. The gardens were lovely and the views amazing. Not anything to do locally but it is really well placed for travelling around. The owners very kindly recommended places for us to go. We found the property was small but had most of the things we needed to cook etc. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hangers in the wardrobe.

Great location, great time. Kitchen a little small, but that's a minor thing. Stars on a clear night were amazing, especially viewed from the hot tub.

Stayed here for a week with my partner and son. No complaints whatsoever. Cottage was very cosey with great views. Owners always on hand if needed but wasn't as it's all there. Cottage isn't overly spacious but theres plenty of space to explore around with sheep,a stunning little pony and deers at your fingertips. Local pub is great for food and refreshments also. Town centre is only about 4 miles away for any essentials. Would recommend.

The barn is lovely and cosy. The owner is very friendly and brought us games and colouring for my children. It is close to a few small villages and national botanic gardens and dinefwr castle. It's only 5 mins from Aldi too. The owner left us cake, biscuits and milk. I only knocked a few points off cause there was a dirty grill pan in the oven.

The owner of the cottage was so welcoming and friendly, she left us to our own devices so we never felt overlooked and she made it very clear that she was always there to help or assist us if needed. The cottage was fantastic with an incredible view overlooking the fields. The hot tub is excellent, right outside the front door and in beautiful scenery. Wish we stayed longer and would definitely return. The local pub also owned by the landlady was something special. The food was fantastic, and the locals were unbelievably welcoming, making it a brilliant pub to visit with a child.
