Had a great long weekend with friends who were all amazed by the property and scenery. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, even providing us with fresh eggs from his chickens. We visited Barnard Castle by taking a local bus that goes through Mickleton. The weather was the only downside but the sun came out on the last day so enjoyed a walk from Holwick up to High Force. Would highly recommend and stay a again in the future.

Could not fault Ornella view. It was booked for a surprise birthday/girls weekend away. Idea location and the place was beautiful. Has everything you need to ensure your time there is enjoyable. Owners where so friendly and helpful if we needed anything. Would highly recommend to anyone. We enjoyed it that much as soon as we got home we have booked again for next year. Clean, spacious and a beautiful cottage. Memories made with good friends and more memories to be made again next year.

Superb property which is even better in real life than the photos. Loads of room for a large group. Hot tub outside is a great addition. Owners were really welcoming and on hand if you have any problems. Gorgeous country setting with lots of great things to see within a short drive.

We stayed here for my husbands birthday with family and friends. 7 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 younger children and we all enjoyed. It is a lovely place with lots of room to spend as a group. The owners are close at hand for any questions you may have. It was immaculate, very comfortable and well equipped. The games room and jacuzzi added to the fun that was made

Great for a family gathering, lots of space to spread out. Games room was well used. Hot tub a wonderful addition and used by us all, especially lovely at night and not overlooked at all. Some crockery and glasses were chipped, but I suppose this happens on a well used property. Overall a fantastic property and lovely welcoming owner. We did enjoy watching the chickens too.

Great party house does lack the comforts such as hot showers and comfy beds but great for a party style get away ! location fab great for walks and local pub. Was disappointed that the hot tub was emptied before our last night to get ready for the guests arriving the next day, never had this before ! overall value for money and would reccomend for party break .

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thanks for your review. We find it a little disappointing after you told us you had a fantastic week - and didn’t bring anything to our attention even though we live next door. Regarding the hot water - someone from your party had altered the controller settings which may explain this. Regarding the comfort of the beds this is a totally subjective. The previous guests had wanted to take some of the mattresses away with them - which you would have seen in the guest book comments. Finally the hot tub - which is the biggest problem for any holiday cottage owner. If guests ignore the instructions, as you did, given to them on how to maintain the water quality, then our priority has to be that the hot tub is ready for the next guests. Also guests undertake to leave the house in the condition they find it. This was certainly not the case - amongst other things it took the cleaner 30 minutes to remove the large amount of wax that a member of your party had spilt on the oak flooring. Finally we are not really wanting the cottage described as a party house - it was until a year ago a family home.

As a group of 8 women we stayed for the weekend. The hosts were very helpful in organising keys. The cottage itself is amazing, the kitchen is fully equipped, fire wood was provided for the burner and we were more than comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our lazy weekend relaxing. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for our wonderful stay we had a great few days. The house is lovely with great facilities and enough space for a large group. The location is great and the pub served really nice food. We picked the house for the hot tub and this didn’t disappoint. The house was very clean with lovely furnishings, the only thing I would change is the comfort of the old mattresses. We also picked the house because dogs were welcome and this was important to us. Thank you for letting them join us, the only thing that would help is if the garden was secure so we didn’t have to worry about them. Thank you again we loved our stay

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the positive comments. Regarding the mattresses - they were all bought new in March this year and are of hotel standard. And also regarding the security of the garden for dogs. The garden area is almost 3/4 of an acre and would be almost impossible to make totally secure. The large patio area is now secure - two removable, dog proof timber gates are now available to keep our canine friends safe on the patio.
