Superb holiday cottage. The children loved the hot tub and the pup loved the garden and the field behind. Very peaceful but still offers easy access to many of Somerset and Dorset’s attractions. The cottage has everything you need and the beds were extremely comfy. The owners were very helpful and the flapjacks on arrival were superb. Thanks both. Can’t wait to come back.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left (Easter Long weekend). This cottage and the owners made it feel like a home away from home. We love doing a ‘Hot Tub’ break and this didn’t disappoint, albeit the hottest Easter for a long time. It still was a lovely way to end the day (my mum of 80+ years young loved it too). Plenty to do near and far! Stourhead (NT) was great! Barrington Court equally as impressive. A stop at a cider farm was a must. On our way home in Monday we detoured to Coates Willow farm (wetlands). That was a lovely place with a few artisan shops etc. Walks too! We cooked at the cottage by choice to keep the pennies at a lower cost. But there are plenty of pubs to eat at locally. The scenery in Somerset is beautiful. The peacefulness at the cottage was welcome. Lorraine and Kevin were brilliant hosts, informative and friendly along with their 4 dogs ( super friendly). We certainly recommend the cottages and would be a place we would return too.

Website says not to arrive before 3pm got to cottage at 7PM it was NOT ready. Website said dog friendly was told when arrived dogs only allowed in certain areas of cottage. There were ants in cottage. I was not told of building work in next door cottage which lasted all week when booked. Hottub which was a selling point was old with parts loose and missing.

Response on behalf of the Owner; We have recently reopened our cottage after an extensive refurbishment. The guest arrived at 6.50pm, just as I was finishing cleaning the floor. I was giving it a final clean due to the fact that we'd done some last minute finishing touches to the cottage and I wanted it to be spotless. We apologised for the floor being slightly wet, but invited them in and helped carry their suitcases, offering them tea and flapjack etc. Regarding pets - The Agency Booking Terms & Conditions apply to all properties within their portfolio, and simply ask that pets are not left unattended in the property and they are not allowed upstairs, on beds or furniture. We do ask that these Booking Terms & Conditions are adhered to not only to protect and preserve our Cottage, but also to be mindful of our guests that do not have pets. We offer over ten acres of fields in which to exercise dogs and consider the Cottages and location to be very pet friendly. The guest texted to report ants coming in through the back door. I apologised, and within an hour, rushed home to offer ant powder which immediately solved the minor ant problem. During this week, we were getting the Snug (UK10864) ready for opening at the end of the week. There was no building work or noise what so ever. A plumber came in to service the brand new boiler and fit the flu (this was done whilst the guests were out for the day). We had a painter and decorator in to help paint the walls - a very quiet job. At the very worse, the guests saw extra vans in our carpark, no workers were there after 5pm or before 9.30am. General Maintenance is a part of running any holiday establishment and we are proud of our efforts to keep our guests happy. We are sorry that, unlike the vast majority of our customers, the guest did not find The Cottage to their liking. At the same time, The Barn next door was fully occupied, with very happy guests who have already said they'd love to come back to Midknowle Farm Cottages. They loved the peace and quiet and say they'd had a truly relaxing time.
