Cosy shepherd’s hut on the Llŷn Peninsula with a wood-burning stove, meadow setting by a lake and a fire pit for starlit evenings, ideal for two plus a small dog near Portmeirion.
For a true change of pace, this shepherd’s hut sits in a wildflower meadow on the Llŷn Peninsula, close to the edge of Snowdonia National Park and with Portmeirion nearby for an easy day out. The setting feels wonderfully quiet, with uninterrupted views towards the Yr Eifl mountains and a private lake just below. It is designed for two, with space for one small, well-behaved dog, making it ideal for couples who want to switch off and spend time outdoors.
Inside, the hut is compact but thoughtfully arranged, combining rustic charm with modern comforts. A cosy double bed and a wood-burning stove create a snug spot for evenings in, while an en suite shower room adds convenience. There is a practical kitchen area with an oven and two-ring hob, fridge freezer and a Belfast sink, plus the essentials for making tea, coffee and simple meals. Towels and bed linen are provided, and little touches such as handmade goats milk soaps help the stay feel special. A Bluetooth speaker and radio are on hand for music, along with hot water and a towel radiator for comfort.
Outside, you will find seating for slow breakfasts and sunset drinks, as well as a fire pit and barbecue for cooking under the stars, with logs provided for your first night. Parking is available behind the hut, and although there are a handful of similar huts on the wider site, each is positioned to keep its own sense of space. Spend your days exploring the peninsula’s beaches and coastal paths, or head inland for mountain walks, then return to your meadow hideaway for a peaceful night’s sleep.
