We loved staying here overall. My review includes all the things that I think are good to know before booking. The sizable grounds with loads of needed tree shade in the 35+ temperatures, all of the children’s play equipment was perfect to occupy our 1 and 3 year olds and meant we barely needed to venture out at all to keep them cool and entertained across the 2 weeks. They loved the chickens and devoured the fresh figs picked off the tree too. With the hot temperatures, the sizable pool was a must. It especially meant we did not have to travel anywhere with our two toddlers, to find a pool / lake to cool down. There's no fence, but the pool has a splash alarm. The only downside was the creek next to the house with accompanying mosquito population which meant we could not be comfortably outside in the evenings. We would definitely return if it was confirmed the grounds had been recently treated to control these. The village centre, 10 minutes’ walk away, is not France’s prettiest but very functional. There are at least two bakeries plus a good small supermarket, with most things stocked, and if needed the larger Carrefour is just a 3 mile easy drive on the outskirts of Orange. A couple of very picky things - It would have been good to have a modern connector for our devices to a speaker; there’s a radio / CD player from the ‘90s in the kitchen but no way to plug in your own AUX connection. My only other comment is that the Wi-Fi is fast, but can’t be connected to outside of the lounge. Put that down to the huge 100+ y.o. brick walls! And this meant we all spent less time on it anyway so it’s probably a good thing! Mobile coverage was good through the house though if you are willing to use mobile data.
