Heather and Leslie provide a warm welcome second to none! The property is in an idyllic location, total peace surrounded by woodland, free range chickens in the garden and an abundance of wildlife. It is a couple of minutes from the nearest town with all amenities and within driving distance of many, many great days out. There are lots of walks direct from the property and a wildlife reserve on the doorstep. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for your stay. All kitchen and cooking utilities including the use of a washing machine. Tv and wifi if you need it. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing break.

As a relatively last minute booking it was good to find accommodation of good standard which served our needs more than adequately. Heather was very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. Any queries we did have were quickly and readily resolved and nothing was too much trouble. Could certainly recommend to friends.

disappointed with rules for dog not as advertized.not allowed to leave dog in house and because of the very hot weather could not keep dog in car therefore restricted time out.not allowed in back garden.accommodation good.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We can only emphasize that you read carefully the terms and conditions on the website for cottages that accept dogs, before you book. Please also read the description of the cottage. The back garden is shared with the owners. When our guests arrived they emphasised how nervous their little dog was with other dogs and people, we suggested that they might feel happier sitting out in the front garden, which they did.

Peaceful and secluded location. Walk from the doorstep with your four legged friend and watch the red squirrels from the windows. Heather and Leslie are friendly and thoughtful hosts.

The cottage was perfect for 2 plus a dog. There are walks from the door. The owners live on site and are very friendly and helpful. Excellent for walking, resting and escaping from busy lifestyles!

We had an excellent holiday at the But N’ Ben. Heather and Leslie were very welcoming and provided all sorts of useful advice and help, including lending us their boot crampons so that walking in the ice and snow was so much easier. Wonderful eggs from the friendly and inquisitive chickens. The cottage is warm, comfortable and very well equipped.

Lovely little cottage, well equipped kitchen and a fabulous shower! The only problem we had was the sofa was very uncomfortable but we let Heather know and they brought us round a comfy chair and said they would reupholster the sofa. The cottage is very close to the forest and there is a lovely walk nearby. The lane to the cottage is not tarmac and is very lumpy in the winter but don't let it put you off. Leslie and Heather are very good hosts.
