With a stay in Hafod, you really can experience relaxation! Not only do you have a view of the sea in a coastal location, you’ll also be temptingly close to an abundance of wildlife along the Mawddach Estuary, trout fishing in mountain lakes, Harlech Castle, St David’s golf course and Portmeirion Italianate Village are just a handful of the many superb attractions within easy reach of this lovely spot. The property also has views of south Snowdonia’s most dramatic mountain, Cadair Idris, as well as the sea and is in an ideal location for ramblers.
Sleeping up to four guests, you’ll find your holiday home a few minutes walk from the coast road.
On entering the house you are welcomed straight into its friendly living room…why not pull up a chair and browse through the shelves, thoughtfully stacked with books of all descriptions. If picturesque scenes are more your thing, peer out from the balcony facing straight out to sea and enjoy spectacular views from the French doors. If you feel the need to get away from the digital age then this property is ideal as there is no Wi-Fi, so you can relax and enjoy the technology free surroundings. Even those who aren’t keen on cooking will be converted by the distinctly retro kitchen, with its quirky humble beginnings, original painted cabinets, and round dining table. Washing up takes on a new-found pleasure too, as there is no dishwasher. Choose from the double bedroom with plenty of storage facing the front of the property or the cosy twin bedroom, featuring ample storage and windows that look out over the garden. Explore the spacious garden patios, with outdoor furniture and a firepit to have on milder evenings -sit back relax and enjoy the sounds of calmness.
Barmouth is one of the most picturesque resorts on the Welsh coast, where the mountains meet the sea, and is surrounded by Snowdonia National Park. This traditional seaside town boasts an enormous sandy beach, perfect for families. Enjoy walks along the promenade and view the beautiful sunset over the slim peninsula which can be watched taking a drink at a local bar at the end of the road. Take in a show at the Dragon Theatre, or visit a local folk club. The town has a gym and a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, making it an ideal destination for a holiday, even out of season.
Other places to visit include a swimming pool in Harlech (10 miles from Barmouth by train or road), Slate Caverns and St Tanwg’s, a little Celtic chapel (about 1500 years old) that was hidden under the sand dunes for hundreds of years. Beach 1 mile.
