There is plenty to explore in the area, including historical landmarks, excellent walking and some of the finest limestone scenery in the country. Whilst visiting the village, be sure to spend some time at the Hellifield Flashes, which are natural ponds offering opportunities to catch glimpses of migratory birds. The village has its own railway station, retaining most of its Victorian features and is Grade II listed.
