These pretty gîtes, two of 3, are in a converted 17th century abbey, and are situated on a working farm, on the outskirts of a small village, and the discreet owner lives on site. W13244 has retained much of its original character with high ceilings, beams, open brickwork and an inset fireplace, while FNP137 has vaulted brick ceilings and enjoys an insert fireplace for chillier evenings. Both gîtes have their own enclosed private gardens to relax in and guests have shared use of a volleyball net, badminton court and table tennis. Visit the colourful market town of Hesdin, the historic battlefield of Agincourt or visit Arras and climb the belfrey for a magnificent view over the squares of this lovely town. The vast sandy beaches of the Côte d’Opale are under half an hour away or walk the ramparts at Montreuil-sur-Mer, and ride the steam train at Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. There is also river fishing and golf nearby. Shop 5km, restaurant 2km, beach 25km.

Approximate distance to Beauvais airport is 140 km.

All on ground floor: Lounge/kitchen/diner, bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and basin, 2 double bedrooms one with plus single bed.

Electric heating, woodburner in lounge, cot, highchair, colour TV (French channels only), DVD player, wi-fi, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, lawned garden, shared grounds, terrace, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 2 cars. No smoking. NB: Some internal steps. Sorry, no hen or stag parties.

If you visit owner's own website this gite is not shown -it is situated slightly apart from the other three gites which Are promoted by owner. The site has many derelict buildings which are used for farm storage. We stayed 1 week and found :-Good points: reasonable space for 4 adults; plenty of crockery and kitchen equipment; cooker and microwave OK ; easy to find just off the main D939; owner came when telephoned, good hot water supply.Poor points: superficially cleanish but stained sofa seats, grubby counterpaines and baby changing mat stuck up with black masking tape;freezer box with door that would not close so could not keep frozen food, food encrusted dish washer which had to be replaced. Kitchen flooded during our stay. Private garden is large rough, unmown grass area with patio furniture needing a good clean. Tv reception is dire although wifi is OK.You are instructed that photography is strictly forbidden- we could see why! The other gites appear much nicer(looking in from outside) There are no local facilities so be prepared to drive for everything. This gite was obviously once very nice but needs better maintenance-we were very disappointed.
