There are some really good things about this cottage - private secure garden, good parking , dog-friendly, generous size (3 bedrooms , one en-suite), scrupulously clean, good wifi, and a range of places to visit relatively close by. In terms of equipment, we had sole access to a really useful utility room with washer, drier and extra fridge, which was great. While the owners generally left us to our own devices, they were pleasant and helpful when contacted. The equipment in the cottage would benefit from some updating. There are no amenities in close proximity apart from one pub over a mile away, which only opens 5 days a week. The road to the front of the property could be quite busy at certain times of the day, and sometimes made walking our dog unpleasant. While we generally appreciated being left alone, greater contact would have been helpful at times. Contact would have been valued when an unexpected power cut hit. Similarly, while we were notified of a planned cutting off of water to the cottage, we were not informed when the timing was changed, with unfortunate consequences for the person in the shower at the time! These things said, I would stress that overall we had a good break and found the cottage a relaxing place to be. - much appreciated !

Lovely cottage with smart TV so you can log in to your own streaming services (no DVD'S to pack); well equipped kitchen; lovely beds and bedding; enclosed garden for kids and pets to play safely (gets the sun all day); great location for exploring Northumberland and Scotland.

Lovely cottage lots of room and very comfortable like a home from home. Lots of fun activities within driving distance. My boys didn't want to leave
