This small but atmospheric cottage is just a few steps from the harbour in the heart of the famous village of Port Isaac. The living/ dining room and separate kitchen are both limited in size and headroom but that is all part of the charm of staying in a cottage such as this in the middle of such a wonderful village. The bedrooms are both twins and located on the first and second floor. Please bear in mind that Fisherman’s Cottage is an old cottage with narrow steep stairs. Fisherman’s Cottage has the advantage of two free parking spaces just 150m away!
Stepping out of the stable door onto Middle Street is like stepping into pure Cornwall! A lovely narrow lane leading to the charming harbour and beach that Port Isaac is so famous for. The pubs, the coffee shops and of course Doc Martin’s house are all here. There is a co-op supermarket and a garage at the top of the village. A bus service runs through the village.
Port Isaac, tucked away on the North Coast between Padstow and Boscastle, has recently been home to the television series ’Doc Martin’ with Martin Clunes. Much of the village is 18th and 19th century and there are wonderful narrow streets and alleyways to explore. The National Trust coastal path runs through the village and provides spectacular walks over the cliffs. Many places of interest are in easy reach: Pencarrow House, Tintagel, The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan along with many others. Pub and restaurant 71 yards. Beach 100 yards.
