Excellent property for larger groups of family or friends, with heated swimming pool, games room, sauna and Jacuzzi.

This excellent property stands detached amid its own enclosed garden, in a peaceful setting, in the attractive Shropshire village of Baschurch. Spacious rooms, modern conveniences and a full range of leisure amenities make it an excellent choice for large family holidays or group gatherings whatever the season. Suitable for less mobile guests the property benefits from a double bedroom on the ground floor along with a toilet and shower facility. Guests also benefit from year-round use of an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, indoor 7 seater hot tub (with 62 jets) and games room with pool table and darts, all available 2pm-7pm, as well as their own enclosed lawned garden complete with furniture and barbecue. Just north west of historic Shrewsbury and close to the Welsh borders, Field House stands in an ideal position for exploring and sightseeing within this lovely region. England’s largest inland county, Shropshire remains one of the country’s least populated and unspoilt landscapes, where bustling ancient market towns lie encompassed by acres of countryside. This is an area immersed in history, with Domesday Book association, noteworthy castles which include the English Heritage castle at Moreton Corbet, the hilltop remains at Montgomery and Clun to the south, and of course the splendid sandstone fortifications which dominate the centre of Shrewsbury. Whether you crave activity, history, culture or shopping, nearby towns have plenty to offer all tastes and ages. Oswestry boasts the legendary King Oswald’s Well - said to have curative powers, Wroxeter the fourth largest city in Roman Britain is only 5 miles outside of Shrewsbury on the way to the historic Ironbridge Gorge and Blists Hill Victorian Town. The RAF museum at Cosford, Attingham Park (National Trust), Hawkstone Historic Park and Follies, a 10 mile ride on the Llangollen railway through the stunning Dee Valley, the Adventure Rope Course at Albrighton or 18 holes of golf at Oswestry Golf Course - all are within easy reach of Field House. This was an ideal location for what we wanted which was a family get together to celebrate a 30th and 40th birthday in the family. The age range was from 3yrs to 69yrs and there was something for everybody. There was nothing to criticise the set up and the owner was only to pleased to help and advise if needed. A wonderful place all round.

We enjoyed our stay and would go back, the pool area was amazing and the house is in a lovely setting, I do feel that it could do with a refurb particularly the lounge furniture and décor but overall had a grand time.

Myself and my family had a lovely weekend at Field House. We did not want for anything .From bags of ice in the freezer to shower gel in all of the 4 showers. The only criticism would be the availability of the fantastic pool area with games room and sauna as it is only available from two until seven . But would i book Field House again , definitely without a doubt.

Having recently returned from a weeks family holiday at Field House...I would definitely recommend it. The house is spacious...we had 12 people staying there age ranged from 81yrs old to 12 years old. Everyone had plenty of space. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need plus more! The games room in the house was perfect for teenagers...lots of board games available too. Then there was the pool area! We were a bit worried that only being able to access pool and hot tub between 2pm and 7pm might be an issue...it certainly wasn't. The pool was fabulous...the games room was great and the hot tub and sauna were very relaxing. By the time 7pm came around, we were ready for dinner and evening games. The local pub did amazing food and the local Indian takeaway was delicious. There is a fabulous Farm shop and cafe in walking distance...again the food and produce were lovely. On the whole...we all had a brilliant week here and I would recommend to anyone looking for a large venue for a get together.

Our 3rd visit to Field House, with an additional 2 babies bringing our numbers up to 12 this year. The cottage is very spacious, ideal for large family groups and the pool facilities are first class.

Beautiful cottage that had everything we could have needed. Loved the little extras like providing toilet rolls, towels and body wash - so thoughtful! The pool house was amazing.

Fantastic place to stay for a weekend - was just a real shame we could only use the pool facilities between 2pm & 7pm. If this was morning access it would make it so much better.

Lovely big house. Needs a bit of modernising. Pool was fantastic although only being able to go in at 2pm -7pm wasn't very suitable. I would have preferred to use it in the morning so I could go out and explore in the afternoon. Hot tub is also within the 2pm-7pm only time limit and indoors. Hot tubs are lovely to use outdoor in the evening so I was a bit disappointed with that.

A great place to stay for a family holiday. Something to keep the whole family occupied. Loved the pool and hot tub. Plenty of space for adults and children to do their own thing. Well equipped and very clean. Convenient for walks and a great local pub. Spacious garden and patio area, would be lovely in the warmer weather.

Our family stayed at Field house August 29th for a week, ages from 1 to 67 years. Having rented other houses in the past this was the best ever! Everything we needed was supplied, all bedrooms great and comfortable. Everyone loved the pool, the closed in garden and games room had so much to keep the grand children amused. The farm shop/cafe was great, also had a lovely meal at pub just round the corner. Plenty of places to visit in the area made this a delightful holiday all round. No complaints at all only a surgestion - downstairs bedroom was great but no washing facilities, as my husband has difficulty in climbing stairs a shower room would have been helpful, we made do with utility room! ( maybe something to add for the future )

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you so much for your constructive comment regarding a downstairs shower. I am pleased to advise that we have now installed a ground floor shower suitable for the disabled and for those who find stairs difficult, to go with the downstairs bedroom and toilet. Thanks again for drawing our attention to this.
