Like home from home, the house has everything you need and was lovely and warm. Wi fi was a bonus and the beds nice and comfy. Would love to stay here again in the summer when the weather is better to get use of the balcony.

Really loved our stay at the Dreaming Duck. It was a lovely, quiet setting, peaceful and away from the main part of Whitby, but still not too difficult to get to both by car or on foot. The property was clean, tidy, well equipped, and well laid out over three levels. A nice place to come back to each day, and quiet spectacularly placed directly under the viaduct and right on the river it really was a gem of a find. Our only issue was that the welcome pack instructed not to change the boiler setting, that the heat was on all the time and we should just change the radiator dials. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case, and even with the dials turned up, the heating did not come on until 8pm each night and it was a bitterly cold few days weather. Other than that, no issues at all and we would stay again. Thank you.

We had an excellent week's holiday at the Dreaming Duck. The weather was mainly kind and Whitby was an excellent base. Two of us actually did the Whitby Abbey steps! Anything we needed help with was immediately dealt with and the cottage was comfortable supplying all we needed. We would definitely stay there again. The supply of books and DVDs was excellent and we were pleased to have SKY television. Many thanks.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dreaming Duck. The property was comfortable, clean and in a good location. There is a lovely walk into Whitby along the Cinder track. It was in a quiet area which was very welcome after noisy Whitby. It was very central for touring this area of North Yorkshire. It was our first visit to this part of Yorkshire but certainly not the last. The tea, coffee and bottle of wine on arrival was a very considerate thought. We enjoyed watching the steam train pass on the other side of the river. We would definately stay at the dreaming duck again when we return to this area.

A lovely, well equipped home from home in a beautiful location. Close to Whitby via the walk across the viaduct which is very nice, although the hill up to the main road is not for the faint hearted! Whitby town is great and has lots of places to eat, drink and shop. The steam train is a brilliant day out and is well worth the money. York also close by and only an hour by car, use the park and ride when you get there as it's better than trying to find a car park, and much cheaper! Local people are really friendly and helpful, always happy to recommend good places to see etc.

Had a great week - took our bikes to do the Cinder Trail from Whitby to Scarborough - the trail can be accessed from the viaduct adjoining the holiday home. It is a disused railway line so all off-road and mostly level ground or slightly sloping. Also enjoyed the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway from Whitby to Pickering through lovely countryside. The railway line passes opposite the holiday home under the viaduct. Very nice house and lovely location away from busy Whitby but close enough to access easily by fairly short walk or cycle over the viaduct.
