Culloden is a spacious maisonette over two floors with its own entrance. It has an excellent location for those wanting to explore the Scottish Highlands as there’s easy access to the A9 and A96, taking you north, east, south and west! Culloden is well known around the world as the site of the battle that ended the Jacobite risings. Others will know it from Outlander! The National Trust for Scotland look after the site very well, and there’s an excellent visitor centre. It’s just up the road from the maisonette, so well worth exploring. Nairn to the east has excellent beaches, and on the other side of the Moray Firth (where there’s a resident pod of dolphins!) the Black Isle has a lovely beach at Rosemarkie. Further afield and beyond the charming city of Inverness you have the NC500 to explore in the north, the Cairngorms to the south, and Loch Ness with Skye beyond to the west.
Another fantastic asset of Culloden is its close proximity to fantastic golf courses. Castle Stuart Golf Links is only ten minutes drive away, Nairn’s golf courses only a little further, and the Fortrose & Rosemarkie GC is the 15th oldest course in the world! Royal Dornoch is only 50 minutes drive away to the north as well, and this is on top of the golf courses in Inverness city. It’s a truly excellent location for a Highland holiday, for those wanting to explore as much of the area as possible. The accommodation itself is spacious and comfortable for a family of four or even just a couple wanting to be well located for their holiday. Book Culloden and have a great base in which to recharge before exploring more of the Highlands!
