The cottage lives up to all the photographs. It really is a classic 'Olde Worlde' thatched cottage. Very comfortable but beware the low doorways to the downstairs bedroom and the dining room. Excellent front and rear gardens so weather permitting sitting out is a pleasure. It's quite close to Liverpool Airport and there is a morning and evening peak of half a dozen flights which added to our interest. Well equipped and would recommend this cottage very highly.

Third visit to this lovely peaceful cottage. Very dog friendly with a large enclosed wrap-around garden; well equipped kitchen, small but comfortable dining room and cosy lounge with a great wood burner. Two pubs within a couple of minutes walk; Co-op, Chinese, chip shop etc within a couple of minutes drive. Only downside is the poor wi-fi which is good for searching but nothing more. Quiet village with many lovely old thatched cottages, a large park and enclosed dog run, and a great round walk down to the River Mersey which takes up to an hour. Half hour drive to Chester, not much more into Wales. Bus stop for Liverpool 30 seconds walk. Fully recommended, will be back.

Beautiful, quirky and cosy cottage. Great location near the pub for great food, and near the bus stop for frequent trips to Liverpool! Owners are friendly and nearby if you need them. Comfy beds, clean and warm, couldn't fault it. Liverpool is a fab city, lots to do and lots of it free. Recommend a visit to the Imagine exhibition about John and Yolo at the Liverpool life museum.

The cottage was so nice, considering it was pet friendly it was immaculate, normally pet friendly means smelly. Julie and Simon was so friendly, and gave us everything we needed and more! Couldn’t recommend enough. If you have little children they have 2 ponies on the back garden which they let your children groom etc

I stayed with my husband our baby and two dogs. The cottage was in a central location with private off road parking in a beautiful setting and was well kept and lovely and warm! We all had a fantastic stay! Cannot recommend enough! Thank you.

We stayed at the cottage as a family of 3 with our 2 dogs. It is a very spacious cottage with a lovely feel. I can honestly say that the pictures do not do it justice. It was perfect, everything in the cottage is very good quality and the beds were very comfortable. The garden too was also perfect for our dogs with a large enclosed wrap around garden. The village its self has 2 dog friendly pubs. The Childe of Hale pub is less than 5 minutes away and you can eat in the bar area with your dogs. There is also a general store and a post office and some lovely walks in the area. I would definitely recommend this cottage. Finally, Simon and Julie are excellent hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Hats off to you

Just had a lovely week in this cottage with our dog. Lovely and warm with a large log burner too. Nice walks from the cottage and a nice park nearby. We had snow as well which the dog loved. Julie and Simon were great hosts too.

First time at cottage and loved it...spacious, comfortable and cosy with wood burner and free wood. Will definitely go again one summer when can enjoy the enclosed dog friendly garden and local walks. Easy access into Liverpool and Manchester and lots to see and do. Great.

Lovely old thatched cottage with a large, dog friendly, wrap around garden. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and bedroom. Two dog friendly pubs within 5 minutes walk in the lovely village. The cottage is on a non-through road so it is quiet, and a walk along the road takes you to footpaths down to the Mersey with a pleasant walk along the shore. 5 minutes to the main road network with easy links in to Wales, Chester etc, or direct drive into Liverpool (bus stop in the village if you don't want to drive). Highly recommended and we will be back.
