Please note: No children, except babies under 6 months. There are drops in the grounds and an unfenced river in the garden, 20 yards. Nestled in the secluded valley of the Dulas, with the sounds of the river flowing through the two acre garden, peace and tranquillity are real features here. Slate floors, exposed beams and thick stone walls all add to the character and make for a romantic holiday hideaway. Jasmine Cottage forms part of a traditional Welsh Chapel, dating from 1825. The owners live in the upper part of the chapel. Adjoining the property on the opposite bank of the river are oak woods scheduled as a SSSI, with paths that lead past a picturesque gorge with waterfalls and then on to the villages of Aberllefenni and Corris. It is ideal walking country, with easy reach of Snowdonia. Within half an hour’s drive are beaches at Ynyslas and Aberdovey. Closer still are the nature reserves at Ynys Hir (RSPB), Cors Dyfi (Osprey Project). The market town of Machynlleth and the Museum of Modern Art - Wales are worth exploring, as is the Centre for Alternative Technology just down the valley at Pantperthog. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
Jasmine Cottage can be booked together with Honeysuckle Cottage (26471) to accommodate up to 4 guests.

This is the perfect place for a couple or someone to escape too, cozy, warm and comfortable. Owners were very friendly, and provided delicious homemade bread and shortbread on arrival. Scenery around the area is stunning. Local amenities aren't nearby but I knew this beforehand and made sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. Would certainly stay there again.

We loved our stay here. The cottage and location are beautiful. If you want to get away from it all and be in nature, this is the place. Beautiful walks, literally at the bottom of the garden. The cottage is surprisingly spacious for two people, and has such a lovely feel. We felt really at ease and relaxed staying here. Our dogs loved it too! The local amenities (shops, etc) are not fantastic. But it’s not too long a drive into Machynlleth, where you can get everything you need. You don’t expect amazing local amenities in such a rural location, so just do a shop before you go. The owners, Malcolm and Alison were so friendly and welcoming. They even gave us a welcome pack of homemade shortbread, gorgeous fresh bread, eggs and milk, tea, coffee and sugar. We will definitely be returning.

Good for a complete break, away from it all. Cottage very spacious for two (plus two dogs). Home from home, very cosy and warm. Lovely to hear the river running by. Walks from the doorstep and fishing in the river. Although a drive away, a good choice of restaurants.

A lovely location and very friendly welcome. The lounge was a bit dark and the settee too small. The lounge could take a larger more comfortable sofa and chair and could be brightened up by use of lighter curtains and furnishings if the only window cannot be enlarged. The kitchen was very well equipped with an excellent cooker.

From the moment we arrived, we had a very warm and friendly welcome. In the stunning cottage was fresh, handmade bread, melt-in-your-mouth shortbread and a 2 pints of milk. The whole place oozed character with each room being a good size. Waking up to sun streaming through the bedroom window and the sound of the stream just 20 feet away was so beautiful. The whole area is stunning and we honestly couldn't fault anything. Hopefully we'll get to return again soon. The only reason we marked it down on local amenities was purely for the fact is was just a little too remote to walk to a pub or shop. However, this didnt detract from our overall enjoyment.

Sofa was uncomfortable. Very little natural light in the property: it was gloomy and airless. It was however super clean, very tastefully done out and located in very pretty idyllic surroundings, but it was not somewhere I felt l wanted to spend any time in. Happily the weather was great so I could get out and about and didn't need to spend time at the property, except overnight. The owners provided a welcome pack including home made shortbread and a loaf of bread which was very nice. I think the property details should specify that the owners who live on site have a large and very friendly dog- in case you are a visitor who isn't keen on dogs and doesn't want to find one inside your cottage if you leave the door open. There was also a humidifier running in the sitting room- which could be switched off- but not ideal.
