Nestled in the secluded valley of the Dulas, with the sounds of the river flowing through the two acre garden, peace and tranquillity are real features here. Slate floors, exposed beams and thick stone walls all add to the character and make for a romantic holiday hideaway. Honeysuckle Cottage forms part of a traditional Welsh Chapel, dating from 1825. The owners live in the upper part of the chapel. Adjoining the property on the opposite bank of the river are oak woods scheduled as a SSSI, with paths that lead past a picturesque gorge with waterfalls and then on to the villages of Aberllefenni and Corris. It is ideal walking country, with easy reach of Snowdonia. Within half an hour’s drive are beaches at Ynyslas and Aberdovey. Closer still are the nature reserves at Ynys Hir (RSPB), Cors Dyfi (Osprey Project). The market town of Machynlleth and the Museum of Modern Art - Wales are worth exploring, as is the Centre for Alternative Technology just down the valley at Pantperthog. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
Honeysuckle Cottage can be booked together with Jasmine Cottage (25935) to accommodate up to 4 guests.

Had a great couples holiday here. The property is in a quiet location so you will need a car. Ideal for relaxation but in a great area for walks, cycling, and very close to the coast. There are only 12 paces from the front door to a vantage point over-looking a stream. There are only two cottages to be hired with the owners at the end of the building. Dogs are welcomed here which is hard to find these days. The owners are polite and very helpful and even provide home made bread, biscuits, milk, tea and coffee which is a very caring touch and much appreciated after our long travel. We spent a quiet and peaceful week here and returned home refreshed

Excellent choice in a very rest full quiet location. Spotlessly clean with a lot provided on our arrival namely home made bread, home made shortbread, eggs, milk, tea and coffee. Brilliant location overlooking a quiet river bed and walking in the hills and forest straight out of the back door. The owners left us alone which was lovely and they were very kind. We would come back to this cottage and we will recommend it to our friends and family. The roads around the cottage were very narrow and quite challenging so I would think twice about this location with a very wide car, however this is rural Wales after all!

Had a perfect week's escape to Wales in Honeysuckle Cottage Capel Bethesda. The location is lovely - set next to a small river around surrounded by trees and miles from anywhere. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and had a fully stocked kitchen including washing machine and detergent. The cottage has modern double-glazing so you will hear nothing at all when it's bed time. The walls are literally two-foot thick, too. In the morning, crack the window and lie in bed listening to the birds sing and the river babble. When we arrived there was homemade bread and shortbread along with two pints of milk and a box of farm eggs which made for an excellent breakfast the following day. I loved it and I'd recommend anyone looking to stay in the area to book this cottage.

Fantastic week, Malcolm and Alison were there to meet us and show us round the cottage. One on the best welcome packs we have had with milk, bread, eggs and the most amazing home made shortbread that went too quick. Unlimited logs for the burner that was an added touch. Felt so at home and been dog friendly with so many walks from the door step and only 10 minutes drive to cadair Idris Minffordd car park. Only thing I'd say that was a little annoying was the bed squeaked. I would highly recommend this cottage.
