We had a lovely stay in Gardener's rest. Being in such beautiful gardens and being able to walk around whenever you like makes this a very special holiday spot. The owners are lovely people and you feel the love and care for their garden everywhere.

Sadly our holiday was cut short but the time we had there the gardens were beautiful, it was close to the places we wanted to visit & being dog friendly was great.

We had a great week! This location was superb!Apartment in country house on estate, wow!As a tenant you should walk unlimitedly through the gardens and enjoy all the splendor. There is also a lunch room and a small country shop. The owner is friendly and helpful. The interior of the house has some English romantic, but shopuld be replaced here and there. Something we had little trouble, the rest made it more than good. There is plenty to do in the area.We often made trips to the Jurassic Coast, with its splendid hills, rocks, cliffs and pebble beaches. Golden Cap, Portland Island, Branscombe, Chesil Beach, Lyme Regis, wow, can not be missed! !!! Exeter with its beautiful cathedral.Sidmouth with its beautiful bay and red cliffs and beautiful gardens. And of course the vast Dartmoor, amazing! We would love to come back to this fantastic place!

A bit disappointing, not the location, that is beautiful with free admission to the very well kept garden, but the cottage needs updating. A proper shower (and there is room for it) would be a great improvement. The cottage was not very clean, the extract fan over the hob was very greasy. Value for money now but we decided to pay a little more in the future to be in a more modern place.

I had a lovely stay, the cottage was spacious, well equipped, warm and comfortable. The only thing I can think of it didn't have was a shower. Internet access is a recent addition and very welcome as mobile signal is not the best. The gardens were amazing and a MUST see if you are in this part of the world. This is an ideal retreat for anyone who is happy to be miles from anywhere and happy to spend hours in the car traveling to places of interest. Don't get me wrong, the cottage is wonderful, but miles from civilisation. Some people will love it, but for me it was just too isolated. Lovely local pubs, but you can't have a drink as you need your car to get back.
