The cottage was well located for trips out, however, there were major concerns regarding safety in the cottage; the decking area was lethal and both of us nearly slipped over several times. We tried to use the side path, but that was also very slippery. The problem seemed to be that no sun went onto those areas and therefore, 'slime' had accumulated, making it slippery. My dog also had an accident on the decking area, lost her footing and slid belly first towards the patio door. The other major concern was the bathroom. There's no picture of the bathroom which speaks volumes. A shower over the bath, was the description and this usually means the shower is located at one end of the bath and not on the side wall, where you have no room to step back and wash properly. However, this was also lethal as there's nothing to hold onto to get out of the bath and it was very slippery. We had to go out and buy a plastic mat in order to protect ourselves from falling over. Had I known the shower was on the side wall, I would not have booked the cottage and I would suggest the lack of a photo is on purpose. The dishwasher would not hold the dinner plates without the rotor arm making contact, so we had to lie them down in the basket. We found that the plates and cups on arrival were greasy and had food bits on - suggestive that the previous occupants perhaps didn't take to it either. This may seem picky, but as we have a dishwasher at home, I don't intend to have to wash up by hand when I am on holiday. The photos of the property do not reflect the current situation: you cannot see through to the fields, there is a shingle section in the back garden rather than all grass, and the shrubs at the side are very overgrown and make you feel too enclosed. The patio door was very very stiff and hard to open - I had to use my shoulder to 'barge' it open. The kitchen equipment was not that great - no potato peeler! Baking sheets/trays were scuffed badly. I wouldn't call it a well equipped kitchen at all. The owners should do something about the bath/shower and the decking area before someone has a nasty accident. The handbook should be updated - we did not see a pub within 1/4 mile as described and it would have been nice to have updated info.

Such a beautiful cottage, with everything we needed, in a peaceful location. I wish we'd spent more time at the house, but we ended up out and about all day, exploring places like Stonehenge, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, Monkey World and Bournemouth Air Festival. It was lovely to have somewhere so comfortable and quiet to relax in the evening. I was quite sad to return to our messy family home 
