New to the market for 2021, this beautiful property is in a great location, close to Ferry Nab, Storrs, Lake Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere. Nestled on the Eastern shores of Windermere, equidistance from the top and the bottom of the lake. In terms of location, it doesn’t get much better.
Split over three floors this modern property offers the perfect holiday home to relax, spend time with loved ones and make amazing memories together. The second floor is home to three well presented, good sized bedrooms. The two main bedrooms have kingsized beds and built in wardrobes for your belongings and offer pleasant views from the large windows. The third bedroom has a full size single bed, with a slightly smaller pull-out bed underneath, it can be used by an adult but probably more suited to a child. The family bathroom is fully tiled, contemporary and comes with a shower over the bath and heated towel rail. The first floor, which actually opens to the ground level at the rear is all open plan and offers a spacious area with plenty of easy seating to relax after a day on the fells, a large dining table, perfect for a family games night and a few glasses of wine and a well-equipped kitchen, ideal for a hearty breakfast before a day of adventure. A doorway at the rear leads directly onto an enclosed patio area which is south facing so attracts the sun all day and is perfect for that morning coffee and a bit of fresh Cumbrian air. The ground floor features a utility room with washing machine and dryer, a separate WC as well as parking for two cars at the front and a garage which can be used to store bikes or kayaks.
The property is located in the exclusive and popular Storrs Park area. Just outside the hustle and bustle of Bowness-on-Windermere. You are ideally situated and close enough to easily access the popular tourist village with its array of facilities, attractions, bars and restaurants, but with the benefit of accommodation far enough away that when it’s time to relax, you can unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet. Lake Windermere and the Steamers are a short drive or walk away, and you are able to easily access the main routes to explore further afield. To the north, you will reach Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere. To the south Newby Bridge and lakeside with The Aquarium of The lakes and The Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Or you can take the car ferry over to Hawkshead and Coniston. With all of this at your fingertips, you’ll have a holiday to remember at Bowness Retreat. Beach 13 miles.

Absolutely loved our stay, tastefully decorated and comfortable. Very clean, everything we needed was in the cottage. Near local amenities in windermere but still away for peace and quiet. Loved our coldwater swims in Coniston, Grasmere and Rydal water. Very dog friendly which is a bonus . Would highly reccomend. Only one gripe was water not hot enough fot bath on night but we did press boost in boiler cupboard toward end of stay . Would return again .

Lovely place, very quiet, lovely ,clean and comfortable. Takes about 10 to 15 mins to walk to local amenities which we didn't mind. Great communication with the host. Really enjoyed our stay and would return.

We booked quite late so wouldn’t have normally chosen to stay here. It was close to Bowness but we’d rather have been in Bowness itself. However, the place was clean and well equipped. The sofas were super comfy & as a base to explore it worked well. Useful to be able to park outside and have a washing machine & dryer available. The instructions in the folder were out of date (check in times/ bin collection/ local attractions) and it was quite harsh decor so didn’t feel particularly cosy. A couple of essential items missing from the kitchen, v high impractical dining bar with stools, hot water a bit sparse. If those things were sorted then it would feel a bit more value for money, but overall we felt it was quite expensive what it was. However we loved exploring the area which is beautiful and were very grateful for amazing weather!
