Lovely, quaint, comfortable cottage with beautiful garden. However, because of the steep stairs, would not recommend for very young children or anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs. Luckily the bathroom is downstairs.

Cottage was clean and village location good. Near main road and difficulty parking off that road. Nice cottage but in need of updating with newer furniture.

Lovely cottage in a super location. Very friendly and helpful owners, we loved our time here. The garden is a little untidy but this didn't stop our 8 & 10 year old from enjoying exploring it - they thought it was great! but younger kids may need close supervision. The cottage is on a narrow section of road and its a bit unnerving walking to the shop, but once past the shop there is a pavement. We would definitely come back. Other minor points, the fridge is a bit noisy and the storage heaters are difficult to set.

We had a lovely short break in Forge Cottage - absolutely no bad words to say about the cottage itself. It's cosy without being cramped, very well equipped, has a lovely wood burning stove, is comfortable, warm, and has a nice new stereo and TV. I didn't meet the owners but they were very helpful and friendly, and left a nice tray of tea and biscuits to welcome us. The garden is okay, fine for letting the dog out into, but could be really lovely with some more work. Each cottage also has a nice little area outside it for sitting and having a glass of something :o) The road is relatively narrow, and busy at times - we didn't hear any traffic noise from the cottage though, it's more noticeable when you need to try and reverse your car up onto the parking space or when walking to the (lovely) local shop. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here, and I hope to go again someday. Next time I'll get to the shop for 8.30am and get some of the warm cinnamon buns before they sell out!

I fail to see how anyone could leave negative feedback on this cottage. So quaint, cosy and warm. Great location to explore north Norfolk. The deer greeted us every morning in the garden outside the living room. Will definitely return.

We had a lovely autumnal break in a very cosy cottage. Stiffkey is a great base to explore other areas of North Norfolk. The owners gave us great advice on walks, restaurants and local events.

We had a lovely stay at Forge Cottage. The location is great and so is the cottage. Parking is a little tricky and you may struggle if you have limited mobility. It was perfect for us though. I really enjoyed having the muntjac deer at the kitchen window every morning. Hope to stay there again.

Sadly this cottage whilst in a good location is in need of some TLC The stairs to the first floor are very steep and needs another good handrail the main bedroom needs another bedside light The outside garden furniture was unusable because of the rust

Cottage picturesque, double bed so solid like trying to sleep on a large rock, had to move into spare room. TV far too small. Open fire filthy and with no means to have a fire should we have wanted. No telephone as advertised. Very steep stairs, could do with another banister. Parking hazardous, need someone to guide out onto main road. Village stores and village pub very nice, also local walks are very good, though would recommend a torch if walking at night as only a few pavements. We felt so disappointed with the whole package as were expecting better for the price paid. A packet of biscuits and UHT milk as a welcome was almost insulting compared to what we have had from other cottages. Would like to add the owners did seem very nice though.

We rented Forge cottage and Blacksmith's cottages together for an extended family holiday. we had a lovely time, the cottages are so cosy and the garden really pretty. We love the fact that you can see greenery from both aspects of the living rooms. The owner was very helpful and kind. The Red Lion pub just up the road does lovely food and the little shop and tea room just around the corner so handy & friendly. This was our 3rd stay in Forge cottage, we would love to visit again.

The furniture was somewhat frowsy, the TV was very small and if we had known that the staircase was so steep (it was somewhat unsafe for an older couple) we would not have chosen this cottage. With a downstairs bathroom and toilet and the stairs being difficult to manoeuvre people needing the loo in the night will find this very difficult
