A great base for seaside holidays, this lodge has frontline sea views with a 500 yard walk through the woods to the dog friendly beach.

Beachwood has frontline sea views amongst a secluded woodland setting. The huge decking stretches to the cliff side with views onto the award-winning beach. Corton lies just outside Lowestoft, the most easterly point in the UK, and guests can enjoy stunning sunrises each morning. The beach is often deserted, which makes for relaxing walks in both summer and winter, and is accessed via a lovely short walk through the woods. There is a pub a short walk away which serves food. A 10-minute walk to the centre of the village, there is another pub serving food and a small shop which also sells newspapers. There is a huge selection of shops and supermarkets a few minutes drive away with lots of free parking. This detached lodge is ideally located to explore both Suffolk and Norfolk. Visit the Norfolk Broads National Park, with its southern gateway, Oulton Broad, just a short drive away, with fantastic restaurants, bars and nightlife. Lowestoft offers shopping, beaches, two traditional piers for family entertainment and restaurants offering good seafood. The popular town of Southwold is about 25-minute drive away. Beach 500 yards. The site and location were good. Very scenic. At the time there was a bit of a building site to negotiate to get to the beach but it's ok so long as you can walk. Only real problem was my car was vandalised. Currently under investigation but it may be squirrels or something similar. At the moment I'm unsure of the full damage but it could have set forefront car. Squirrels, got to love them....

The views from the lodge were lovely. It has everything you need to cook a meal. Only thing missing for us was, no village shop for newspapers and treats.

Beachwood is a first class holiday lodge in a superb location overlooking the sea. It is very well furnished, extremely comfortable, warm and provides all the facilities you need for a great stay. The lodge is surprisingly large with an ensuit bathroom to each bedroom, a very large lounge/dining/kitchen area and a very large outside decking area. The site on which the lodge is situated is small compared to several of the other sites in the area and is very quiet and peaceful. Locally, there is a pub but regrettably no shop. You need to travel a tad further into Hopton-on-Sea for a 24/7 shop. Otherwise, it's around 5 minutes into Lowestoft where all the main facilities can be found.

Fabulous location and lodge is very high standard. Only suggestion would be more comfortable decking furniture. Hope to return again

Beachwood cottage was excellent, extremely well equipped, very cosy and warm. Very peaceful location with deer, fox, rabbits and squirrels passing thru the front of the cottage. Unfortunately for me a sea fog came down on the first day and lasted for the seven days. This was thick fog which made visibility zero. This obviously spoilt the holiday. The beach at Corton is a pebbly beach, very little sand, not a nice beach to walk on. In summary : Cottage was excellent, Location was poor.

We had a great relaxing weekend, modern well equipped lodge in a great setting it wouldn't feel cramped even with 4 adults. Didn't manage to get any connection to wi-fi & mobile reception in & out but that's the area, didn't suffer from a spell off the grid. The local area is quiet, walks on the beach & the small local nature reserve are just what we wanted for the dog. We met our aim which was not to use the car all weekend As the owners guide notes say, the closest pub isn't worth the effort. On Friday it had no beer? & by Saturday it wasn't even opening, the White Horse in the village is a nice pub with a good menu. Overall this is our 4th trip to the area in different types of accommodation but this was the most comfortable & best located, we would definitely look to return.
