The ancient village of Acharacle lies at the southern end of Loch Shiel in the Ardnamuchan peninsular in the western Highlands. Or head for the golden sandy beaches of Dorlin (just 6km away), or Ardtoe.
During the summer months, the Acharacle Produce Markets at the Village Hall is not to be missed; you can try tempting homemade soups and locally baked goods or pick up handcrafted gifts for friends and family back home.
