This property is part of our English Country Cottages collection

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Set amongst the outstanding Pennine countryside high above Hebden Bridge, this characterful cottage makes a wonderful rural retreat yet has excellent train links.

This beautiful, 17th-century, stone-built farmhouse cottage can be found amongst the outstanding Pennine countryside high above Hebden Bridge. It is set in a simply breathtaking rural location, on a non-working farm, where the owners keep a small flock of sheep and a dog. The cottage adjoins the owners’ home, and has been completely renovated, yet has retained its character and charm with a stone entrance porch, exposed beams, original stone fireplace and large mullioned windows with spectacular views from each one. A luxurious hot tub sits on one side of the south-facing, flagstone patio; to the other side is the barbecue and outside dining area - the perfect place where you can relax and take in the peace and tranquility whilst absorbing the surrounding panoramic landscape.
Excellent walking and cycling are both available direct from the door, as the farm backs onto the Calderdale Way with the National Trust’s Hardcastle Crags and the Pennine Way close by. Although accessed by a farm track and in a rural location, just a 10-minute walk will take you to a local pub serving food (where the local bus stops), whilst the local shop/post office is just 5 minutes further. The cottage is 1½ miles from Hebden Bridge with its abundance of shops, cafés and independent retailers, about 30 minutes on foot or less than 10 minutes by local bus. The local equestrian centre and Hebden Bridge Golf Course are both within 5 minutes by car.
A scenic 20-minute drive will take you to Haworth with its wonderful cobbled high street and most famous as the home of the Brontë sisters. Around 50 minutes by car is the market town of Skipton, known as ‘Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, and the Peak District National Park can also be reached in around an hour. Hebden Bridge has excellent rail links to the cities of Leeds, Manchester and York, and for children, the highly acclaimed Eureka Museum can be reached in around ½ an hour. Shop/post office, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

The best cottage we have ever stayed in. A perfect holiday for us. The extra touches were lovely. Very clean and luxurious. Child friendly. The only things which might be drawbacks for some were an unmade road on approach and nothing much within walking distance but this would not put us off. Lots to do in only a short drive or a longer walk. It would be fantastic to return sometime.

Had the most amazing 40th Birthday weekend away. The place is stunning, views are beyond amazing and the owners are lovely. Everything you need is there in the cottage and it is spotless. I would 100% go back and have recommended to all my friends and family.

We loved the cottage, it was cosy and beautifully decorated. It was also a nostalgic visit for my husband who was born and lived in the area for eleven years so a perfect location for us. Also very peaceful and quiet. We didn't use the hot tub but that was our choice ( my husbands really 😊 ) we couldn't fault it and will definitely be back.

I would highly recommend this beautiful, comfortable cottage with breathtaking views, relaxing hot tub and everything you could wish for for your break away from it all. The food hamper on arrival is a thoughtful touch, included treats for the kids. I would not hesitate to book again. Owners have good local knowledge with ideas on places to visit & went out of their way to make ours a lovely stay, thank you.

Immaculately presented cottage, tastefully decorated to give a homely feel. Fully equipped kitchen. Top marks for cleanliness including the hot tub. Accomodating hosts, available if you want them, discrete if you don't. Helpful with suggestions for local attractions or amenities.
