Tucked away at the end of a quiet lane is this tranquil and picturesque getaway, perfect for a break away to enjoy the surrounding countryside and the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, all with the convenience of having Blackburn and Preston close at hand if needed.
Located within the grounds of the owners’ properties, Bluebell Cottage would have originally been stables before they were sympathetically converted to a very high standard, retaining plenty of character whilst offering modern home comforts for a high-end luxury holiday at any time of year.
Downstairs, a light and spacious open-plan living area welcomes you, with comfortable sofa and armchair, smart TV, and the log-burner making a lovely feature in the space. An initial basket of logs is provided for you, so you can get that cosy glow straightaway! The kitchen and dining area are immaculate and very well equipped, with everything you need to create your favourite holiday meals, including dishwasher, fridge-freezer, full oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, and toaster. There is also a washing machine for convenience if needed.
Upstairs, there are two separate bedrooms both with tasteful and stylish décor. The master has a super king-size bed, ample storage, and views out over the fields. The second bedroom offers great flexibility, with a full-size single bed, and then the option of having an extra trundle bed if required, suitable to sleep a child. The bathroom is smart and modern, being fully tiled with a very generous-sized walk-in shower enclosure complete with a large rainfall showerhead, basin, and WC.
Outside, there is an open courtyard area to the front, and ample private parking for up to two cars nearby.
Locally there is a pub and a shop within walking distance for convenience, and also plenty more amenities close at hand within a few miles’ drive. The historic market towns of Clitheroe and Longridge are both within easy reach, offering a delightful selection of independent shops, cafés, restaurants, and attractions. Other local attractions include Clitheroe Castle, Bowland Wild Boar Park, Browsholme Hall, and Blackpool, which is under an hour’s drive away.
If you want to immerse yourself in the countryside, there are multiple footpaths nearby giving you the option to have a leisurely walk right from the door and explore the rural area. There is also the Ribble Way, a 70-mile-long stretch of beautiful scenery that can be picked up in several different locations. The Mellor Millennium Viewpoint is also very close by, and is a great spot to take in the far-reaching views on a clear day
