The lounge has a wonderful open fire, large sofa’s and a big screen TV. French doors lead out onto the decking at the front. The dining room is adjacent to the lounge accessed through glazed double doors. The kitchen is to the rear of the house and has a lovely view over the surrounding fields where sheep and cows may be grazing. Downstairs also has a twin bedroom and cloakroom. Upstairs has a further three bedrooms all with sea views - one twin and two double (one with en suite) plus the main bathroom. The house has off road parking and a large grassy enclosed garden. The  neighbours have hens who love to be fed, so you may be lucky and get a wonderful freshly laid egg or two during your stay! The seafront can be accessed just across the road from the house, where you can fish from the shoreline, or a canoe/kayak could be easily launched. The wildlife locally is fantastic, you could see a variety of bird life, otters have been spotted in the area. Seals are also visitors, as are the gannets which are fabulous to watch dive for their supper. The local village has a number of facilities - including shop/cafe, Inn with bar/restaurant, petrol station, village hall and tennis courts - all within easy walking distance from the house.

Local attractions include Castle House Museum and Gardens, the Bishop’s Glen, Dunoon Ceramics, Morag’s Fairy Glen, Dunoon’s swimming pool and leisure centre, Cowal Golf Club, tennis, bowling, and the extensive scenic promenade. Cowal (the area between Loch Long and Loch Fyne) boasts excellent opportunities for the great outdoors - particularly walking, hill walking, and cycling. The Kyles of Bute and Tighnabruaich, with the beautiful sandy beach at nearby Kilbride Bay, should not be missed! The ‘Arrochar Alps’ in northern Cowal offer some of the finest hillwalking in the Southern Highlands, and the ’Cowal Way’ (Portavadie-Arrochar) and the walks at Kilmun Arboretum and Loch Eckside are particularly recommended. The highly popular October walking festival, known as Cowalfest is now firmly established as a highlight of the year in the Cowal calendar, with all walks graded and numbered. There are also cultural and social events to accompany this event, which usually lasts about 10 days around the middle of the month - a ’must’ for walkers! Excursions on the famous paddle steamer ’Waverley’ are available direct from Dunoon pier up to 5 days each week during the season, and are highly recommended and extremely popular. The wonderful Benmore Botanic Gardens near Lock Eck provide an idyllic setting for a fascinating day out. Beach 15 yards. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurant 1 mile.

The town is well-served, with supermarkets, independently owned shops, and excellent hotels and restaurants offering the finest local produce.

    The surrounding area is well-known for its fine beaches, unspoilt countryside and scenic walks, with the addition of the Kintyre Way, making this an ideal location from which to explore the Kintyre Peninsula. Lying just off the west coast of Kintyre, the Isle of Gigha offers a pleasant day trip. Within a short distance there are many quiet and sandy beaches to explore and there is easy access to the Isles of Islay, Arran and Jura. Jura is one of the wildest and most mountainous of the Inner Hebrides. Islay is great for wildlife enthusiasts, as it boasts a large RSPB reserve, a wintering population of barnacle and white-fronted geese, and a wildlife information centre. For the outdoor enthusiast, there is walking, cycling, fishing and water sports.
