Find cottages in Westbury

Westbury is a small town on the western edge of Wiltshire adjacent to the chalk downs that form Salisbury Plain. Famous for its White Horse, marked high on the white chalk cliffs, the town is a perfect cottage holiday location for exploring the beautiful countryside and surrounding villages.

The historical origins of the huge chalk Westbury White Horse are unknown, but it’s believed to be at least 250 years old, with some stories dating it back much, much farther. Visible for miles around, it is the town''s calling card and most famous feature as well as being the oldest and largest chalk horse in Wiltshire. The town provides an ideal self-catering cottage location for exploration of this tranquil rural area as well as good access to a number of outdoor activities.

The region is known for having some of the most beautiful walking and cycling paths in the country, and the chalk downs are popular for their stunning views across Wiltshire, whilst the downs are great for orienteering and rambling.

Westbury is conveniently positioned for days out to Bath and Salisbury as well as journeys into the unspoilt countryside of the Cotswolds. Longleat Safari and Adventure Park is only about 7 miles from the town.

Take the chance to explore the area in peace and at your own pace, see our selection of Westbury holiday cottages.
