The layout of the apartment is all on one level. At the front of the apartment, you have the open plan living area, with comfortable seating in front of the electric fire. The kitchen is well equipped, with everything required to create home made meals to enjoy together at the breakfast bar. There are two double bedrooms, as well as a shower room completing the apartment.
At the front of the Old Schoolhouse there is a small communal enclosed garden with a bench, where you can enjoy a morning cup of tea whilst soaking up the views over the surrounding moorland. The owners live next door in the neighbouring converted school, and the playground is now the parking bays.
Commondale is a picturesque village, typical in the North York Moors National Park. The heart of the village has a friendly local pub, serving great food. The pub is only yards away, so you can enjoy a tipple or two in the evening in good company before the short walk home.
The Esk Valley train which travels between Middlesbrough and Whitby stops at Commondale station which is just 15 minutes walk from The Old Schoolhouse. Although the service is limited, this is an excellent way to travel to Whitby, or to Grosmont to pick up the North York Moors Railway. This is a great choice of destination for walkers, as there is a vast array of walking trails nearby, and you are less than a 30-minute drive away from the coast, where you have Staithes, Whitby, Runswick Bay, Saltburn and Robin Hood’s Bay – all ideal for a memorable day out. Your dog is sure to have the adventure of a lifetime exploring the coast and country, plus many pubs and cafés are dog friendly in this area.
